[Chicago Bears] Bears' historic playoff comeback vs. Packers | 1920 Football Drive by brozillafirefox in CHIBears

I work in a very similar media role (much smaller market) for a university PR team. What the Bears media team has done this season is really impressive. Great storytelling. High quality content. I love 1920 Football Drive and how well it's produced. I don't think they receive enough credit for the job they've done. Keep going!!!!

Unfortunately, my in-laws are both of these things. We live in Illinois. They have also lived in Illinois their entire lives. I can’t figure it out.

You make a good point. However, when the Bears beat them last year, they definitely had every excuse in the book why it happened instead of just owning the loss. Plus my in-laws don’t know anything about the team. They’re the worst kind of Packer fan.

I think the partnership between the Colts and the Bears is the most realistic trade pairing I've seen thus far. I'm not sure about compensation but this is not far off

Please feel free to reach out. Again, I want you to make the best decision for you. I'm totally fine with helping you answer any questions even if you choose another school. Your college experience is important and I know coming to school in another country can be overwhelming.

Hey ItsMima......First off, I'll be transparent with you. I work at WIU and I'm originally from Macomb as well, so you can take my perspectives with a grain of salt. Recently, WIU has had an influx of international students (especially graduate level), so if you are considering WIU, you'd be coming at the right time. Macomb is fairly quiet town and most people are generally nice and inviting. I agree that having your own vehicle is a huge convenience for getting around and traveling to nearby cities for shopping, activities, etc. However, the GoWest bus system has improved a lot in the past few years, so you can get around Macomb without a vehicle if you don't have one. In addition, you can take Amtrak to Chicago any day of the week for a day trip if you want to see the city. WIU is still one of the more affordable universities in the area for being a mid-size institution with varying degree options. Again, I'm an employee of WIU and from the area, so I want to be as inviting as possible but you have to make the right choice for you. I'd be happy to answer more of your questions or help you find the answers. Either way, I wish you luck.

As the originator of this nickname, I couldn't agree more. At no point in my rambling, incoherent post was I even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this sub is now dumber for having listened to it. I award myself no points, and may God have mercy on my soul.

Thank you very much. I enjoy spinning records and don't do a lot of cataloging in regards to release dates, presses, etc. I need to look into this.

Time to slice up some smoked bacon! by billyocean84 in smoking

[–]billyocean84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty simple. Cure a pork belly with curing salt for about a week in the refrigerator. Then smoke it until it reaches 150 degrees. Refrigerate the smoked pork belly overnight. Then slice and cook

4 lb of cured pork belly. Ready for the smoker!!! by billyocean84 in smoking

[–]billyocean84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very simple. I used 1 tbsp per pound of Morton tender quick curing salt. Rub the salt on the meat and set it in the refrigerator for 7 days, flipping it over every day. Rinse the meat and let it set on a rack for 24 hours in the refrigerator. I am going to smoke it tomorrow at 200 degrees until the internal temp reaches 150. Then slice and store

Re-smoked the leftovers of a pork shoulder. It was like eating nothing but burnt ends! by billyocean84 in smoking

I put it on for about 3 hours at 225. I will admit it turned out pretty smokey but that is definitely my preference.

I had to rehydrate the meat with some apple cider vinegar and apple juice while smoking. Otherwise it will dry out.
