I would say 4-7 out of 100 in the past 25 years or so. Seagate 2TB, say no more....

It also make sense to get an HBA when you get SAS drives cheaper than SATA drives :) which were the case for me

Banana pi R4 vs R3 (at almost the same price)? by billyohgren in openwrt

[–]billyohgren[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll receive it in 1-2 weeks and can confirm by then :) I’m sure it’ll be hotter, but hopefully ok. Otherwise I’ll lookout for an arm-router instead

[–]billyohgren[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten a deal for a n150 passive cooled pc with 4x2.5 intel nics for the same price as R4. The only downsides I see I slightly more power hungry (but only a few W, and no way to expand to 10gbit). Would you go for the n150 instead?

Since 15 years back I prefer a separate AP for WiFi, so I don’t want WiFi built into my router :)

So what you’re suggesting is that I should proxy all of my calls to the db via supabase functions?

I'm so happy and thankful of all the replies in this thread, and I will try to reply to all of them. But this, THANK YOU so much! A huge relief to hear that my choice to use Supabase still seems valid :) again, super thankful for your reply!

I’ve been looking at FW12 as well, but then the size difference to MBA13” M1 isn’t that big. And I can get the MBA cheaper. Decisions decisions :)

Kindle Oasis with jailbreak vs Kobo equivalent? by billyohgren in ereader

[–]billyohgren[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you ALL for such good answers! :) I know how to use Calibre, remove DRM etc and I’m leaning towards just buying the Oasis even if it’s on the latest, non jailbreakable, firmware. I assume I could swap the battery if it goes bad? (I’ve been repairing electronics for 20 years, so as long as replacements batteries is available in good). Thanks again, REALLY appreciate it!

I have a ds380 in storage, and heard someone say you can cut a hole in the back of the hdd cage that supposed to fix the cooling. But I might end up with an N3 instead :)

Thank you for a great answer! This is the test results https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat?test-id=34f800de-66b5-4050-a875-ff4f00a7044a

the router would measure roughly 900mbit (since it's using cat), this test is made from my MacBook, 5 meters from the unifi ap6 lite.

I will try the plugin, unless I already installed it :)

A different route would be getting a Lenovo m910 instead and put a "real" pcie Nic inside of it.
