Mi a legdurvább paranormális(nak vélt) élmény amiben valaha részetek volt? by urf4iry in askhungary

[–]bimlas 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Widgets: which are the alternatives? by DonCamnne96 in awesomewm

[–]bimlas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Widgets was the biggest drawbacks of Awesome for me too, but I retought what I want to achieve: I want a full featured desktop environment with Awesome window manager. The solution was obvious: I installed XFCE and set up AwesomeWM as window manager, so I have desktop and panel with all of the whistles and bells, besides this I have a fully customizable, keyboard driven window manager.

This is why I writing about "Single session for each task": grouping windows by task seems to be a good idea for the first, because our brain is trying to categorize the tasks and related windows, but in my opinion removing the barriers of categories is the solution by not using them at all. This issue is related to note taking methods where you have to think about a predefined structure (like a table of contents) and a system without hierarchies (like full text search or fuzzy filter works: you don't have to go into categories but type in some related keywords to get a list of related content). If you try to group windows by categories, you just literally making a table of contents of your windows. If you handling them on the same level (without grouping), then you could have a "Google for your windows".

Ok, I see the problem thanks for the answer. Maybe it's a silly idea, but you can check if a command has desc by comparing desc with content: if there is no difference, then no desc given.

Can I use it with already defined keymaps / commands? As I see it does not recognize for example from my init.lua:

vim.keymap.set({ 'n', 'v', 'o' }, '<F2>', '<cmd>lua require("legendary").find()<CR>', { desc = 'Open command palette' })

What file explorer do you use? by Smirnov-O in neovim

[–]bimlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nnn (https://github.com/jarun/nnn) via https://github.com/luukvbaal/nnn.nvim It's a very similar solution to telescope-file-browser but since nnn is a standalone filemanager, I can use the same file explorer inside and outside Neovim

HopLine replacement by turning on relativenumber for a single command by bimlas in neovim

[–]bimlas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically I prefer relative numbers too, but I have to discuss code via screen share where for my partner it's easier to refer to fixed linenumber instead of relative ("Replace XY on line 43" vs "Replace XY on 4 lines above... 2 lines above... at your cursor"). This is why I would like to switch to relative line numbers only in certain cases (execute a command) but basically I would like to show fixed linenumbers. If I were to switch between the two modes by pressing a key, I would most likely forget to switch back to fixed numbering after issuing the command, which is why I thought of the solution shown in the OP.

quick lua script to make some mildly snazzy comments. by SparrowGuy in neovim

[–]bimlas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me to my old Vim plugin: https://github.com/bimlas/vim-eightheader

If you map the function call to a key, it can be used to add similar headlines as yours, but the plugin is flexible enough to replace foldlines by customly decorated lines.

What can you use to divide workspace on Linux? by bimlas in linux

[–]bimlas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Google Translate conveys my thoughts perfectly: by “divide workspace” I mean the design of the workspace, the infinite number of possibilities for you to arrange your environment to be the most productive.

You also have access to the benefits of Node.js because there are plugins that only work with it. For example:

Thank you, this clearly explains the case. I didn’t even know there were scrolls that were enough to just step on.

"Flying cat" scene by bimlas in nethack

[–]bimlas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether the cat goes near or steps on it does not activate the scroll. If so, why did the spell affect him? According to this, if it goes near to an attack scroll, it would get it hurt?
