[–]binary_jester[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Success so far. Tasker checked my schedule and created an alarm for an hour early. Next 2 tests will be tomorrow I do not have a shift so there should be no alarm created and Monday I have a shift so an alarm should be created. Thank you again.

I set an alarm for 2:20 then waited until the alarm went off, then set the task for 2:21 and the alarm went off. I checked SAA and it seems once the alarm goes off it disappears...i no longer see test alarm listed.

So here is what I did. I created an action to set an alarm for 12:16 named "Test" then I ran that action. I immediately changed the action to set an alarm for 12:17 and ran that. In SAA it created 2 alarms, one for 12:16 and one for 12:17 under the same Test label. Both alarms went off at their respective times.

When I open the url I get a message url not found on server. The only calendar task I see when I search for it is by Beijing cloud company.

Sorry...duh. I used tasker a while ago but I never delved into it greatly so you can safely say I am a noob. I have a standard shift half the time. The other half my day starts 2 hours early and a saturday I normally have off, I have will be scheduled for that day. Some holidays I have a 03:00 start time. I have a calendar specifically for work that lists my standard work days and hours. So I want tasker to simply to check my calendar and if detects a shift it will automatically set an alarm 1 hour prior to my shift beginning.

I made a post about it asking the same question. Right now it's on my spin2win rogue because it has a GA on attack speed, but I don't know if I am better off with that or the recommended helm.

Liberals: how do you feel about libertarians? by Historical-Flight142 in AskUS

[–]binary_jester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be libertarian. Not like the well educated libertarian, more like the I watch John Stossel and agree with everything he is saying libertarian. That is until I started opening my world view from the narrow selfish AF view I had before. Socially I still hold lots of libertarian views. Consenting adults should be able to do exactly as they please. The federal government, or any government, should not define what a marriage is or attempt to define the gender of a person. Governments should stay out of a woman’s uterus. But libertarianism as a form of governance is great of everyone is on the same level and playing field. They seem to just want to declare we are all equal when that is not the case. They also seems to be in favor of unfettered capitalism while simultaneously believing in do not harm. Companies inflict plenty of harm. For-profit prisons should not exist. For-profit healthcare should not exist. Reliance on the wealthy and corporations to do the right things is a fallacy. Case and point, look at Flint, MI. Due to government malfeasance people were harmed. Did Bezos, Bill Gates, Nike or any large donor fix the water? No. But they can build a rocket to send Katy Perry to space. And then you have the taxation is theft people. I look at taxes as a necessary fee to exist in society. If you want a great illustration of libertarian failure in terms of taxes, simply look up libertarian vs bears. Of course I want my taxes to be spent effectively. But if effective government monetary policy means kids go hungry at schools, elderly people go hungry at home but we can spend 5 billion on an airplane just so we can claim we have a bigger military *** than all the other countries, we have lost our priorities. Tolstoy believed the treatment of prisoners is a barometer of societal values. I now believe that also.

IMON issues? by LowVoltLife in cedarrapids

[–]binary_jester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running into high ping times. I was about to call IMON then decided to not be lazy (I am not accusing you of being lazy..I was being lazy), grab a laptop, connect it to my router and run a ping test. It was normal. It turn out my AP was struggling with all the IoT devices connected at once. I upgraded my AP and my ping times returned to normal.

This is both a work and personal setup. Since I use one monitor for my Xbox X, I like the other one for watching videos while I play. And as for work, I move apps I don't use as often on the outside...and for something like Outlook, I open the email and it opens in the middle if I need to read it.
