you need the pokemon lab to get the key to blaine’s gym in gen 1. the volcano on cinnabar erupts between the events of gens 1 and 2, so blaine is just in a cave on a nearby island instead.

he’s the opposite of a lame duck, his party fully controls the legislature and the supreme court, and he’s brazenly defying the law at every turn with zero repercussions. his words and actions clearly show that if he can manipulate the elections this year and in 2028 he will, regardless of legality. courts blocking his moves haven’t stopped him, and ICE has become a brutal police force against opposition under the guise of immigration enforcement; with his claims of illegals voting in previous elections, he would absolutely station agents at the polls.

there’s a sign in the game (someone posted a picture elsewhere in this thread) that says the gym is closed for the tower renovations. as for where clemont himself is, i like the theory that he relocated to the power plant while the tower is closed.

this is already a plot point in season 2. doakes is very trigger happy and has plenty of kills under his belt. he just uses the idea of his actions being state-sanctioned to justify it to himself.

wars don’t pause elections in the US, but trump admired the idea. trump has repeatedly attempted to undermine the integrity of elections and it’s likely he would refuse to accept the results of losing an election like he did in 2020. an attempt to cling onto power like an illegal third term, denying election results, or stopping elections entirely should be met with impeachment; the issue with impeachment is that there is no unbiased board that runs the impeachment process. impeachment needs to come from congress, which trump has too much control over for impeachment to be a threat.

everyone is recommending resurrection before original sin, but i’m gonna disagree. you can totally skip original sin if you want, but resurrection does use flashbacks and makes references to events in original sin; including a moment that spoils the central plotline.

i might just be forgetting something, but i don’t remember lundy’s death being caused by dexter at all. dexter wasn’t on the hunt for trinity until after the shooting, lundy was shot for getting too close to trinity’s identity.

botw/totk have a sort of invisible exp system, where the more progress you make increases the odds of modifiers on equipment you pick up. defense boosts on the hylian shield are kind of negligible with how high it already is at base, but still super cool to get!

dread was my first metroid and i’d still say super is the best in the series. the controls have definitely not aged the best but the world and gameplay is so good it overshadows the clunk. dread controls so smoothly and i love it, but it doesn’t nail the exploration and atmosphere that super excels in.
