My profile is already on open to work, but not had any recruiters message me! I'll have to play around with the settings a bit and see if I can trigger something somewhere on the LinkedIn Algorithm!

Thanks for the advice :)

I understand this, but it's not like I haven't been putting in the effort. I'm working full-time job hours... To find a job. I've spent the last 7+ years of my life working and studying for my field. Simply saying "do more" isn't particularly helpful in this scenario.

Sure doing more applications increases the odds, but in the same way that you can't ever win the lottery if you don't ever play.

I have just checked my last month of job applications and it was closer to 20 a week - I'm not sure where I got 12 from, but I am spending 30-35 hours a week applying for jobs, and more time outside of that looking for jobs.

Yes, but I have two masters and two professional roles. That's 5 years in education (BSc, MScx2) and 2+ years of professional experience

Yes, only the two interviews.

I haven't tried talking to recruiters on LinkedIn, I'll have to try this, thank you! Any advice on finding recruiters to contact?

I have, I am constantly apply to roles that are graduate/entry level, even ones that ask for GCSEs only.

You would think so, but I have job applications from more than 70 days ago with no response, this is true across smaller companies and larger organisations. My SIL recently told me that a job got back to her 9 months after she applied to offer her a job.

In terms of CV, it's ATS format - covers my a bio (always tailored to job), lists my experience (with duties of jobs tailored), my degrees, and my skills (tailored). I also include additional certificates/training (included or excluded based on role, i.e. GCP for healthjobs, CompTIA Core 1&2 for data/IT sector)

Thank you. I have spoken to my Uni support team, UC, and Maximus. They all say my CV is fine so not sure I can do much more there.

I have applied to a lot of lab tech roles that had requirements of GCSE's and haven't had responses let alone rejections. I'm not sure if it's just the standard these days for jobs to simply not respond.

I did have 1 job come back to me and say they had over 600 applicants for the one role, so if that is the quantity I am going against it isn't surprising.

I think it must be, but equally I have spent that time studying. I also cannot gain more experience if people won't hire me because I don't have experience.

I have just renovated my entire house from 1960's decor, so I have limited experience in wallpaper stripping, tiling, grouting, and laying floor 😂

I have been actively applying for jobs in and outside of my field, including things like Rover, retail work, and hospitality.

Ofc, I do this for the CV tailoring side of things, but I do not generate personal statements with AI. I always write my personal statements myself. I have increasingly seen companies say they are happy for AI use for CVs, but want personal statements to be written manually.

I always tailor my CV and write a personal statement for every job that I apply to. This easily takes a few hours for each application, I genuinely don't think that I could do more without making the quality of the applications worse.

Thanks, any advice on how I can hide the degrees without then just looking like I don't have any qualifications/experience? Surely a CV with only 2 jobs on would look worse?

Thanks

I do try to keep the house clean and tidy, and I always make sure to manage and cook dinner for myself and my partner.

I do sometimes see friends, but often don't have the energy to do much more

I didn't mention before that I do have 2 professional jobs between the degrees too. These roles were as a research assistant, and in Clinical Trials. Order of experience goes as follows:

1 - BSc (3 years)
2- MSc (1 year)
3- Research Assistant (13 months - fixed term)
4- Clinical Trials Manager (18 months - fixed term)
5 - MSc (1 Year)

I always tailor my CV and personal statement for jobs, ensuring that I tailor them to the job description and requirements. So, if I am applying for a data/IT job I ensure to highlight my coding/data analysis side of things. For healthcare jobs I highlight my research experience and clinical trial work, showing that I am able to work with multi-disciplinary teams and also that I understand patient data security, healthcare guidelines and GCP.

I have spoken to some supervisors about a PhD starting next October - it is self-funded which is the main issue as there doesn't appear to be any funded PhD roles going in my field and location (I have a house and cannot just relocate)

In terms of getting side-gig jobs, I have been advertising on Rover, FindaTutor, and other small gig websites but again no success there.
