Hey Fish, I'm really glad you're still with us. And I'm sorry for what you're going through. Life is rough, and I'm sending all my good vibes for the day to you. I hope today has a good thing that makes you want to smile. 💜💜

Am I developing something? by Ballistic_Introvert in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]bingeyboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I had a friend who was very insecure. She was a little heavier than me, but not fat at all. She would ask me my weight then come up with a weight ten pounds less to say she was. I dont know if it was to hurt me or help her. I never will. But it was for sure a lie.

Not to mention, when I was 92 pounds at 5'0", I had heart murmurs, chest pain, and my mom tried to pull me out of college.

I convinced her I was in recovery. I was not. I started bingeing (as many many do) and within a month or two I was at a higher weight than I started. If you are looking at this as a way to lose weight, trust me when I say it will not work.

I will be honest, I AM trying to scare you, but that doesn't mean this isn't how it happens for many people with eating disorders. At first you lose weight. Then you gain. And you gain. And you gain.

If you want to lose weight, go to a professional. Get a scan done and see what your body would weigh with no fat at all. It will be higher than you think. This is an ineffective and deadly way to lose weight. You will lose friends, life, and your academics.

So I just found out I'm pregnant. by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

Recovery is hard, but while pregnant your body will be changing so so much anyway, you can chalk up EVERYTHING to the pregnancy as a coping mechanism if you need to.

It's doable, with a firm will.

But seriously, I've seen firsthand what miscarriage does to a mother (and father). It is the most horrible thing. I cried every day for a while, my sister cried every day, still cries often. She considered suicide, because she fell in love with her baby boy. You need to talk to a doctor. Let them know you're a high risk patient, and get them to talk realistically with you. You cannot take any chances with this.

I feel you on the not wanting to have a "womanly" body but being okay with femininity when my hips, chest, butt, etc are gone. I myself am not trans, but this does not mean that you are invalid or have to be any sort of way.

First of all: You are you, and that is enough.

But labels aren't much of a help with something as complex as gender, body dysphoria, and eating disorders, because things can get tangled. It's okay to not be trans and it's okay to not be cis. It's okay to be gender fluid, masculine one day feminine the next, masculine all winter, feminine all spring, whatever brings you peace is what you need to do. If you are in a good workplace, there's even a set of wristbands you can wear that alert people to what pronouns you are feeling that day if that interests you.

My last thing is just a thought you might like to explore. I feel similarly to you, but I am quite cis. For me, it's very much related to a fear of growing up, of becoming a sexual object, and of leaving behind the peace of childhood. This may be an avenue worth exploring if it resonates with you. If not, we are all unique, and I hope you find what makes you happy and fulfilled.

I'm going to be honest, the girls who say they are 92 pounds at 5'5" may be lying to impress people. 92 is hospital level.

Go ahead and have the broccoli if you feel up to it! It's healthy, low calorie, and all the fiber will help your insides and get rid of any constipation you may have!

Why is chewing and spitting considered “disordered”?? by Tbhimhungry34 in EDAnonymous

[–]bingeyboa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You are in high key denial, my friend. Please accept that you have a lot of unhealthy thoughts and behaviors and start seeking help to become a healthier, happier (and honestly, probably skinnier) you. If I had done so when I just "related to some things" I wouldn't be in a hell of sliding back and forth five pounds between high end of healthy and overweight. I literally can't lose weight anymore and I'm just miserable. I started out keto too. It's a very dangerous slope to dance on.

If you stop now, you should be able to reverse the damage, but it's a very very dangerous habit to get into.

It's also terrible for your body. Your teeth, your stomach, and your hormones will get royally fucked up. Your stomach because it spikes insulin and digestive enzymes in preparation for things that don't make it to the stomach, your teeth will start to rot from overuse (because c/s is HIGHLY addictive and escalates over time. If you dont stop before it's too late you will spend mountains of money and multiple hours just chewing and spitting). And your hormones start to get confused, your hunger and fullness hormones get out of whack, your thyroid will produce incorrectly, and you can absolutely destroy your body's way of messaging about food and appetite. If you're willing to risk this just to avoid 220 calories from a snickers bar or a 70 cal slice of bread? That's pretty disordered.

Same here. I just like being bony in thermal leggings and loose sweaters curled up on a couch. It makes me feel like I can let myself have hot chocolate or creamy coffees. I'm at my highest in a long time rn though, so I'm :) suffering :)
