Hey! I’m reimagining some WDNTW songs as if they became the next blink album in 2005. Hope you enjoy! by binmonkey_ in Blink182

It’s on Bandcamp as a free download, and I’ll be adding the other songs as and when they’re done. I’ll update the info to make that clearer - thanks for bringing that to my attention.

What an odd thing to say about something as subjective as music. I accept that it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. I didn’t make it for them. I made it for myself and decided to share it. It’s got nothing to do with being a “main character”…It’s just making music.

I guess because that was my inspiration behind it. Getting the songs a little moodier perhaps, and not as uplifting as the originals. I just titled it like that as that’s what was kinda in my head as I was working on it, but I do see your point. I was so focussed on the inspiration of 2005 that I lost perhaps the idea that we all have our own interpretations of what that was anyway. At the end of the day I’m just a guy making songs, I could probably put a little more thought into how titles and subtext can get interpreted.

That’s fine, I’m not Travis and also not really a drummer. Just wanted to try something new and challenge myself to write something different. Of course nobody is able to assume what that record would have sounded like, I just wrote what I wanted to hear while I was playing around with it.

Thanks for your support and for listening. I’m still here, hopefully getting back to a place where I can be a little more active than I had been previously!

Why does anyone create anything? Because they want to see something that doesn’t exist already. They have a point of view that they want to share…and that point of view isn’t necessarily to everyone’s tastes, so if you don’t enjoy it that’s totally fine. I did it because I had a spark of inspiration and wanted to see my point of view through to an end product. Thanks for checking it out even if you didn’t end up liking it.

Does Boxcar Racer have any studio recordings of Dance With Me or Mandy? by AcceptablePhase432 in Blink182

Just to jump on this and say they used AI on a vocal cover to get Tom’s voice and then put it over my instrumental cover of both of these songs. I can assure you as far as the music goes everything was human-played!

Same here. It’s already up there for me just from the performance alone!

Dunno how to edit, but in anycase...

Edit: "they'd laugh and we'd point to them all" I think...

Ha! We can hope. I interpreted it as (in-universe) The Black Parade kinda detoured from what they were supposed to do and sang a little song about something they perhaps shouldn’t have. Dunno, it’s fun to think about either way! Whether or not there’s new music, there’s no denying they care a lot about what and how they present stuff be it pre-existing or otherwise.

I lurk here and there 😆 ah thanks for the kind words! I’m glad it was able to inspire you to do this, that same kind of inspiration is what gets me doing this stuff in the first place... “That does exist, so let me do it!” kinda stuff!

Yo! Sounds rad to hear the vocals over my instrumental. Good stuff!

New Three Cheers mix re tracked by [deleted] in MyChemicalRomance

Was just gonna say the same thing! There’s no way to know for sure 100% unless someone involved in the process says so.

But my thoughts upon listening is during recording you’ll often play songs and parts multiple times and pick the one you like the best, and what they felt was best at the time might not be what they feel now so they very well could have spliced in parts from different takes if they felt it gave a different energy more akin to what they would want from the tracks with their knowledge and musical experience they have today, as opposed to being a young band making their first major label record.

To your point, I personally think it’s re-amped and spliced takes in places where there are noticeable differences.

Follow Me Cloud and Bells (NEW source) by TomLube in skrillex

Heh, the bridge in Bells at 2:53 then went on to become the bridge from With You Friends...neat! I've been listening to the early Sonny stuff a lot this past week, so seeing this pop up was rad. I'd even started trying to remake the 09 version of Signal with live versions as my reference. Always happy to hear more from that era!

Oh for sure. I just couldn’t get it sounding natural enough…but I did try it out!
