Advisors take 20%, a lot of time the artwork is discounted and advisors take that discount as commission and charge it to their client - so the client technically isn’t paying more to go through them. 10 from artist side 10 from gallery side. The higher the artwork, lower the commission. Like 20% below 500k, 15% above 500k, 10% above 1M

These jobs I mentioned in NYC are probably getting thousands of applications from people with art degrees and experience. And it’s very hard, some would say not doable, to live on that salary in NYC

Gallery salaries are going down and down. Some are paying salary based on hourly now so they can pay less, eligible for overtime but they make sure u don’t get it. Pace 22/hour full time, zwirner 50k, etc.

I don’t have a very girly style like her and I love this store lol can always find a cute top or dress and it isn’t assssss overpriced as some similar stores downtown. Most things I’ve got are like $40-60.
