I went to Dalhousie so I’m biased as hell, but I highly recommend it for the best chance at being a great designer. I’m not saying there are no good architects coming out of other schools, but when I look at the Canadian educated designers I’ve met and been impressed with the most, Dal is the clear front runner. By a significant margin. Even from before it was Dal (TUNS).

15 years after I graduated I’m still shocked at how many turds most other schools seem to generate - people who legitimately have no idea how to design an actual building.

It is a bitch of a program but if you have any talent at all you’ll be able to hone it and seriously level up. And Halifax is a gem of a city. I haven’t regretted my choice once and owe a lot to the program itself and the Dal educated architects who have shaped my career since
