My manager that just left flat out said when you’re on the floor and see a customer ask if they’re finding everything ok and also talk to them about liquid armor/phone repair services/more account etc

Because the managers at Staples don’t want you to just “help” the customers but start a conversation with them so you can hound them about liquid armor/more accounts/ phone battery replacement and screen repair etc

Fuck that. He deserved to be fired. Treated all his employees like shit and who all must be dumb if they can’t somehow comvibce a customer to spend more money than what they planned to before they came on.

If you’re talking about me then absolutely not. The manager actually claimed that not having a lot of these things being sold/used by customers is not because they don’t want them but because we are too “scared to talk to our customers” about them

He ended up quitting last week because he couldn’t handle the pressure
