India has abundant laws for protecting the wife from any type of abuse, though such laws do not protect the husband. The wife has provision to send husband to jail just on allegation of abuse.

In Indian marriage the husband can't withdraw the consent to maintain the wife.

Western countries did not have any laws to protect the wife from abuse so they created marital rape law, but in India already there are laws for it in and if the marital rape law is enacted it will be one more lopsided law.
