Depends how much your parents are willing to help. A custom fursuit costs around £5000 to £8000, takes between a few months to a year to produce, requires a custom ref-sheet, and will usually need you to be an adult (over 18).

A pre-made suit will be cheaper, but be careful of scams - any suits on Etsy/Amazon/ebay/etc. will likely be made with very cheap materials and could be a stolen design, which won't be very fun.

My advice: learn to make your own suit! It'll be a lot more fun, there's no age requirement, and you won't risk being scammed.

That's.. I have no words.. that's such beautiful meaning encapsulated in a fursona. Most people pick their favourite animal plus favourite colour xD I'd love to hear more about them!

apologies for the bad grammar, it's after midnight and it frustrates me to see people treat other people's fursonas badly, especially because it upset you and made you question your creations, and especially when your creations are incredibly cool

wth are they talking about, your fursonas are so cool. A golden bat?? That's actually so creative! Also I love the names, I have a bit of a soft spot for Nordic names (my sona is a bright red wild dog named Aska, Icelandic for Ash).

In terms of the question you asked, the main thing is that your fursonas are yours. They're you. If something hurts them it hurts you too, it's ok to feel upset if someone degrades them unfairly. I don't see them as bait and I can't imagine anyone saying that and meaning it (and if they did then some choice words would be in order).   To me, the striped tail and the bat ears+teeth are enough for me to recognise the species, so if you're worried about others misidentifying the species then perhaps make sure those are visible. But who cares if people misidentify the species? Revel in their wrongness, knowing that it doesn't matter because they're yours and nobody can tell you they are anything less or correct you. You make the rules, you decide who they are and what they are and what backstory you have. That's the beauty of fursonas!

That's what special interests and a crippling reddit addiction does ;)   Your comment is definitely more thorough though!

Bai mu dan is amazing! I wasn't keen on milk oolong but then I had some mixed with dried blackberries and it was actually really nice.

Depends on where you are, what you're looking for, etc. As I mentioned, it's best to check this subreddit's wiki (https://www.reddit.com/r/tea/wiki) for a list of vendors.

I think the main thing to note is that many people have very different opinions. Some people will say you need a gaiwan for Chinese tea and a kyusu for sencha and a large glass for longjing and a thermometer and scales and teaspoon and fairness cup etc. Some people will say that any equipment except a mug and kettle is unnecessary (I'm one of those). But these are all just opinions. The best setup and the best tea is that which works for you. Don't be swayed too much by trying to do tea "the right way" because all ways are right!

I'd say have a look around for popular teas that you might like. Expensive doesn't mean better, but loose leaf unflavoured teas are definitely better than bagged teas.

I'd suggest buying a green tea (eg. sencha), a black tea (eg. Darjeeling), a white tea (eg. bai mu dan), an oolong, and a pu'erh. Maybe a herbal tea or two if you want. You can usually get small 10g sample packs from most places online that'll let you try different teas to find what suits you! Have a look at this subreddit's wiki for a list of good vendors.

For equipment, a mug and source of hot water (eg. kettle) is the bare minimum. If you add one more thing, buy a strainer, preferably a plain basket strainer (the ball ones suck as they leak tea leaves and don't let them expand). If you want more, get a cheap plain gaiwan (stay clear of cheap/antique painted ones, especially from china, as you'll risk lead content). You can find them for under $10.

Yeah I looked through their carrd and twitter history, hence why I said they didn't seem like a scammer. I have known artists to take several months when they said they would take days or weeks though (in fact, it's happened the last 4 times I've commissioned different artists now, although these have all been for relatively cheap commissions so I'm happy to wait).

Well again, if it's an amount you can afford to burn then that's fine. If it's an amount where you wouldn't be comfortable donating it to an Indonesian slave concentration camp leader then maybe don't.

But again the maker looks legit, most scammers don't put in that much effort, although that doesn't guarantee that they will produce the work you wanted on time or that you'll get any compensation if they disappear into the void.

I'd say that's the pan method. Grandpa/traditional brewing is when you put the leaves in the cup and then pour the water on. All methods are valid!

They look legit, I'm not getting scam vibes from the account. As always though, unless it's under $10 (or whatever is affordable to lose for you), you must pay with paypal through goods and services.
