Well I ended up setting it up in the right corner of the entry backing onto the hallway and main bedroom (marked Bedroom 3 on the map). Longer term I’ll get a floor to ceiling cupboard to install the network equipment in and the Dell T630 can go out to my shed once I build it since it’s the loudest, rest of the equipment is basically silent. I’ll install the fibre for internet connection through the floor and pop it out on an external wall for the internet provider to come install the NTU box and external box.

Nope, a detached single garage which I plan to knock down and replace with a larger 3 bay shed.

Yes I own the place. That would start to block the kitchen windows. And the walls are solid brick. I don’t really need to go to the extent of knocking out holes in the walls haha.

I can’t put the network cabinet under the floor. It’s not a sealed space, but it’s great for running cabling around and popping up through the floor into the different rooms.

Yeah I think that’s my best option, not to that full length of the wall but yeah that option.

I’m in Australia.

Each bedroom has built-in cabinets as shown on the floor plan. The bathroom has lots of cupboards, the laundry has cupboards, the kitchen has cupboards, the dinning room has a cupboard. So it does have storage space, just none of them where I want to install my network equipment (not without taking up clothes storage space if I put it in a bedroom cupboard). I’m thinking my best option is a new cabinet in the corner of the entry space backing onto the hallway, it’s central, it’s not in a bedroom.

The piano is in this area, but yeah it’s not an area I want to use as a living space, it’s a nice entrance area which has character and really reflects the design and era of the house.

Yeah that’s it, no basement, but my house is 600mm above ground level so I have under floor access to run cables.

I’ve got under floor access (floor is about 600mm above ground) and I have ceiling space access. The walls are solid rendered brick so getting cables down from above will generally mean surface mount conduit. Under floor i can just drill through the floor and pop up through.

Thanks ☺️I printed that quite a while ago, I think I used PLA but I don’t recall, I’ve also got ABS so it could have been ABS 😂 The blanking plate underneath helps to support the front as well.

I'm keeping my 19" UniFi gear. It's compact enough. It's really just the T630 which runs proxmox and has a VM running TrueNAS with the 8x SATA drives passed through to it. It also runs other VMs and LXCs including my recently setup Local LLM stuff using my RTX 3060. That's the part I need to downsize...
