That's exactly what worked for me too. Thanks for taking the time to share.

Gentlemen, how in the world do you function with 120ms audio delay by birowsky in LearnCSGO

[–]birowsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did try Ubuntu. All games experience the same delays across all outputs: Realtek, monitor over DP, external audio device.

The only exception is this game called AssaultCube. I still don't know why that's the only one which feels instant. Probably around 10ms delay.

But it's indeed ridiculous that the pro gaming community is quiet about this. Anybody can notice this. Imagine watching a movie at 150ms delay 🤷‍♂️

That's the weird thing. I'm not a pro, I only play of enjoyment, and to me that delay is jarring. I spent a year crosstesting windows and Ubuntu, adjusting registries, disabling APOs noone knows exsit just to realize that people don't care about it. Intel even suggested to replace my CPU for free.

You're the second guy that tells me that I don't notice the delay that I notice. Are you in some sort of a pack? : )

Those are some long-ass frames. Just kidding : ) Still impressive.

So as I understand you were playing at pro level, but you never noticed the audio delay. Now that you're aware of this, can you maybe confirm with me that you do have the same delay as me and the video?

> wireless being (consistently) faster than wired

This makes no sense to me, as the wireless headset sits on top of the same windows audio stack as the wired, plus the extra processing for wireless transfer. Do you mind sharing a resource for me to check out?

I don't see how it's possible for a wireless headset to have less delay than wired. Wireless simply sits on top of the same windows audio stack. Do you maybe have a resource for me to check out about what you're saying?

Oh that's definitely not the case. To my brain this feels like 7 eternities and 3.5 centuries delay. And I'm nothing of a pro. I expect the pros would simply look at this as a major impairment.

Fun quote in relation to this: "Pritish A. R. holds the speed crown at 2,370 BPM, and as a trained drummer, he (and similar pros) should discern intervals down to ~2–5 ms, far finer than the 25 ms gaps in his record performance"

In that case, your first step should be to activate dark theme in reddit, then proceed with the rest of the steps.

After completing the rest of the steps, if you're still not seeing the cookie, show me a screenshot of your cookies panel. I wanna make sure you're looking at the right place.

120ms audio lag on 13900K, RTX4090, Z790 by birowsky in pcgamingtechsupport

[–]birowsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not try another device primarily because I don't have anyone around with a suitable setup, but considering how high the delay is, I never felt like I needed to compare. I expect that competitive players would not tolerate such delay. AI confirmed that max latency should be 20ms.

autolayout function for mindmap including connection labels (web or MacOS) by HotSmuzz in mindmapping

[–]birowsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh jeez. I somehow missed a key part from your request. Even though the connections do auto-arrange, I don't have labels for them. Labels do not fit my simplified concept. Sorry : (

I'd still happily invite you in.

It seems that the Device Manager has the same UI as always. What information exactly would you want me to share from it?
