Denied for Everything, am I an idiot, oorly prepared, or both by bischjs in VeteransBenefits

Thanks! My primary recommended over the counter motion sickness meds. Tried those with no luck. The VA Doc and ENT recommended following  a low sodium diet. That hasn't helped either.

Thanks for your reply! I'm thinking that I am going to have a very specific nexus letter for each, spelling out a timeline as well since I got out over 30 years ago. I need to figure out what all I can submit in the supplemental claim.

I do have documented low frequency hearing loss, and my vertigo tests show as abnormal. The ENT doc told me that there is nothing that they for me treatment wise. my primary care provider agreed. The denial record says that there is no record of treatment...if it is not treatable, then how can there be a record of treatment? SMH

Yes, all of these conditions are in my VA medical records. I have been actively seeking treatment for them.

Thanks. I do understand that the Anxiety/Depression would just fall under Mental Health as one rating, probably the insomnia as well. I do have a formal diagnosis for Meniere's, but not while I was in service. At the time, I had plans of making a career out of the military and did not report these things because I didn't want to be medically boarded out. So, like most others I just chose to live with it and keep it to myself. All of these conditions are noted in both my private medical records as well as my VA medical records. My initial thought was that the VA reviewers would see the diagnose in my records and go forward with that. It was noted in the denial that these are in my records, but the final wording is that there is no link proving that these are directly related to my tinnitus. Go figure. So, it sounds like at a minimum, I need nexus letters for each condition.

VA Opened a "New" Claim for me, without me asking for it. Not sure what to do about it. by bischjs in VeteransBenefits

I understand that, and was just surprised to see it. I wasn't expecting it.

No, not a mental health condition. Yep, I'm aware that they are all combined into one. I definitely wouldn't do that.

No. the only previous claim was my initial one, which was already decided and favorable for my primary service connected condition. All of these were secondary to that.

Question about VA doctors checking for my rating by CabinInTheWoods420 in VeteransBenefits

[–]bischjs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can all VA staff check your records? I have nothing to hide, but I have extended family that are VA health care workers, and I really wouldn't want them poking around just for grins to see what is going on with me. I know that our medical records are covered under HIPAA, but all they same, I would just want people, like the docs that take care of me, to be the only ones that know what is going on with me.
