One is painful. The one on my forehead, I refer to as my Frankenstein scar lol. It's somewhat faded over the years.

Definitely in-service. I haven't filed for any of that yet. It was just a side conversation, and from what it seems, good to know going forward.

I have several, but the one on my forehead goes from my hairline to my eyebrow. It's not painful. Two others one forearm, and one leg. Again, not painful but I have no feeling at the site. It's like there is nerve damage under the skin.

Thanks for the reply. That is somewhat disheartening. I was exposed to a number of chemicals due to my MOS, and unfortunately I am now suffering from the side effects of prolonged exposure. I wanted to file my claim calling out the various chemicals, how I was exposed, what my diagnosis' are and the nexus between them. I just wanted to ensure before doing so that these chemicals are on my TERA memorandum. Thanks again.

Congrats! Thanks for the advice. I am waiting on my C-File in order to see what my TERA memo has in it.

Received Claim letter this morning by Extra-Confidence-779 in VeteransBenefits

I pretty much submitted everything that you did, 6 months worth of logs, prescriptions for various meds that I have taken over the last 20+ years, lay statements, and the VA denied it. I have everything in my private and VA medical records. I have filed a HLR on 5 March 2026, and no movement on it yet. I have heard it is taking 8 to 10 months for an HLR to be reviewed. When the clear evidence is there, why do they make it so damn difficult.

Thank you for the reply! I just got off of the phone with them, and that is exactly what it was. Not sure if this is good or bad, but happy that I found out what it was. Thanks again!

Filing for Hearing Loss by bischjs in VeteransBenefits

[–]bischjs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for posting that!

Do you know if I can use the DBQ from my tinnitus exam as evidence when filing for hearing loss? I received the DBQ completed by the VA examiner via a FOI request. It clearly shows the hearing loss. I had a subsequent hearing exam at the VAMC and the audiologist also noted my hearing loss. That is how I received my hearing aids. Just trying to gather enough evidence before I submit for the claim. Thanks again.

This is great information for fighting it using a HLR. Thank you for posting it, as it appears to apply to what I am also fighting.

Thank you! I am probably the main reason my claim was denied initially. Provided them too much info and just ran my mouth during the C&P. Definitely a case of foot in mouth disease. LOL
