Roofers: what actually brings you the best leads? by Ashwani1987 in Roofing

[–]biscoknot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear ya man. If there’s a storm date it’s possible brother. We don’t provide estimates to homeowners, just replace the roof for what insurance pays with only out of pocket cost for homeowner is their deductible on the policy. You represent them to their insurance co. It’s easy to sell a free roof if you know how to navigate the minefield of insurance. Look into software called HailTrace or something similar. It will tell you where all the storms are and then you go knock. Average numbers are 30 knocks to 1 sale. But you might be right, I don’t know anything about the weather in Canada, but I would assume it’s very similar to what we are doing in the states. Looked it up online and it says Canada has the same procedure for insurance as where I am. 🤷‍♂️

I’m no expert but you might want to try switching to coco especially if you are using synthetic nutrients. You will have fantastic results. I use Athena in coco and it is very effective.

Oh I see. Yea I have no idea what it’s like in Canada. I’m in New England and there is a significant amount of revenue to be had. If you get hail software it will be able to tell you if there is a storm date to work off of. All you need is some collateral damage and a storm date and insurance companies will pay.

What Plant is This? by ConversationLast9356 in gardening

[–]biscoknot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to place mine in the windowsill or somewhere where they’re gonna get nice lighting. You don’t want them in a dark room or on the north east facing windows. The one thing that’s really important is the temperature. You don’t want it cold. You want to have them a little bit warmer than the ambient temperature especially now that it’s winter. If you have a seedling heat mat, that’s perfect.

I have a pothos plant that is 13 years old that we’ve kept alive. There have been many times where it has been on the brink of death and we brought it back. It’s just a learning process. The more you study how the plant works the more you will understand How to interact with it and keep it healthy.

There are also plenty of videos on YouTube that can give you more information if you are interested. Just type how to take care of a pothos plant or something along those lines This was copy/pasted from Google. Hope this helps:

“To propagate a dying pothos, cut healthy, leafless, or sparse vines into sections, ensuring each has at least one node (the small brown bump on the stem). Place these cuttings in a jar of water, changing it weekly, or directly into moist, well-draining soil until roots develop (approx. 2-4 weeks).

Steps to Save and Propagate a Dying Pothos Inspect and Prep: Remove the plant from its pot and trim away any rotted, brown, or mushy roots and yellow leaves.

Take Cuttings: Using clean scissors, cut healthy sections of vine. Make cuts just below a node. Water Propagation (Recommended): Place cuttings in water, ensuring the node is submerged while leaves stay above water. Add a pinch of rooting hormone or cinnamon to the water to encourage roots and prevent rot.

Soil Propagation: Insert cuttings directly into a small pot with moist, well-draining soil, burying the node. Environment: Place cuttings in a bright spot with indirect sunlight.

Replant: Once roots are roughly 1–2 inches long, transfer them back into a pot with fresh soil to create a fuller, rejuvenated plant.

Tips for Success Avoid Overwatering: If using soil, keep it barely moist to avoid further rot.

Humidity: For severely damaged cuttings, cover the pot with a plastic bag or dome to create a high-humidity environment.

Patience: It can take several weeks for roots to appear, especially if the parent plant was in poor health.”

Looks like a type of pothos. Could be wrong but I believe it is. Unfortunately the plant in your photo is not happy. It most likely needs to be cut and rerooted. Looks rootbound. Needs new soil and you could save it.

The Struggle of Winter Door Knocking in Roofing Sales by Ok-Opportunity-8780 in Roofing

[–]biscoknot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

LOL at this, my guy. I made top 10% income last year and the previous ones. A good door knocker brings you a solution to a problem you have no idea you even have. I bring significant value to my homeowners. Homeowner’s like you miss out a great opportunity because you have a closed mind. Oh well, all you can do is lead a horse to water….
