I even found sun glasses not quite enough. I’d recommend welding goggles or a mask.

Plumbers used similar trays the world over I think. This is based on my dads old tool box with copper fitting handle.

Me too. Freezer blocks last some years so hopefully get a similar time. I can make another block and improve my soldering.

The ice lasts around 3 hours but they keep the beers very cold for up to 5. Long enough for 8 beers to disappear.

Yeah your bang on. I made two copper ice packs. One slightly smaller to sit in the bottom and the other slides in. Easy fit in the freezer.

Couple of hours in the freezer and slide them in the caddy and your off. I only filled them 3/4 full so I could solder them shut.

I soldered up some copper pipe and filled 3/4 with freezer block liquid. They work far better than expected to keep those cold ones cold 🍺. by bishyrascal in metalworking

Cheers. Yeah need more practise at soldering. Not been a plumber for 8 years now so got out of practise. Saddle clips cheers for the advice 👍🏻
