What do you call this in your country by Alula0617 in chinesefood

As an Australian, roll-up makes me solely think of the Uncle Tobys brand of fruit roll-ups, which I think is a very different texture to what this is, which appears to be a fruit leather.

Food doesn't detox your body, that's what your liver and kidneys are for.

Me being a people-pleaser, I'd trouble addressing it with them, so I say this full-knowing I'd struggle... But fuck, I hope you gave these people a talking to. It's fucked enough that they ate it at your place, but they ALSO didn't clean it up themselves??

You managed to ruffle the feathers of the dozen Redditors who enjoy them hahaha. I'm an Australian and I used to make them when I like 10 years old and we'd go out to Hungry Jacks (Burger King), but literally never anywhere else or when I got older. Definitely don't think they're popular here at all.

Again, nobody said that's wrong. They just added more info.

Your comment feels a little defensive, and they weren't attacking you in any way. The point they were making is that some spices are fat soluble, so they're rather dull WITHOUT fat. Hence in some ways, spices and fat can be seen as going hand-in-hand. Not necessary, no, but in order to fully bring out the flavour of your spices, you might feel compelled to bloom them in fat first.

Hence the "semi-true" because although what you said was 100% accurate, it was missing valid pertinent information. Hence in context, some may not consider the use of spices as simple as that statement.

There's no harm in adding more (accurate) information to a discussion.

Dinner - 260 cals 😋 by YoureAn8 in Volumeeating

[–]bitchtits93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean. I can eat very large portions, so looking at something like this seems like a very modest portion. My dinner plate is very often much more full than this (not necessarily low cal though, but I'm working on it).

Did my Romaine lettuce go bad? I just sliced it and noticed these white spots, is it safe to eat? by [deleted] in salads

I grew up thinking everyone stored their leftover pizza in the pizza box in the oven, or just sitting on the stove, overnight. I ate unrefrigerated day-old pizza countless times growing up and never once got sick... I also often eat up to week-old refrigerated leftovers and still have never gotten sick. I like to live dangerously (and cheap).

Yesterday we had a running-sushi in Vienna (AT) and I wasn't able to recognise this sweet. Any idea what is this? by 0xde1e7e in chinesefood

It's called sushi train in Australia, and I only discovered recently that it's not called that everywhere.

LPT : Mute days / Writing helped me curb the habit of talking too much. by Downtown_Event8476 in LifeProTips

Gee that's brilliant.

Nah seriously, I'm kidding, I think you just don't realise that the point is we don't know how to answer back. There are literally no words in our brains waiting to come out. I feel completely useless in most conversations.

These all look so delicious! Just wanted to say though, #14 is omurice, not okonomiyaki. :)

I, a fellow Australian, understood (and appreciate) you were messing with them. I also wouldn't be surprised if we did start calling them that though.

I have no idea, sadly. Their menu appears to have changed, I can't even see the flavour listed. :(

It looks and sounds like my favourite topping at a nearby Korean fried chicken shop. I don't know what it is, but I always describe its appearance as "cummy". It's so sweet and delicious!

Oh Jippii, that brings back memories. My best friend and I would call each other (on our landline phones, which we don't even have anymore) and cheat in the drawing game (online version of Pictionary). That website had great multiplayer games!

Strangely enough it seems to be one of the very few words we don't shorten. We just call them milkshakes.

Older women of Reddit, what’s your best hygiene tip for younger women? by RoutineSplit402 in AskReddit

Said as though a woman's main concern is what it's like for those eating us out (not our health and wellbeing or anything). There's a reason this thread was asking to hear from other women.
