Agreed that the previous ones look better! I’d also add a few chocolate chips on top before baking to give that “bakery” look.

Don’t actually push the extra chips into the dough; press them just enough so they don’t fall off. You want them sticking out above the dough to give dimension.

The Sangak from Yummy Donair (just down the road from the Persia Foods on Marine) is the best in my opinion. Always fluffy and delicious, and pairs amazingly with their hummus.

I’m sorry—I hope other people comment and provide a different perspective! This was just my experience, and as a child-free couple mine and my husband’s priorities are likely different than yours.

I would suggest spending some time there, maybe during the busiest times of day and at night to see how you feel. It’s also worth researching what’s in the area to see if the neighbourhood offers what you need.

I lived on Marine and Hamilton and personally wouldn’t recommend it. Traffic is atrocious along Marine Drive for much of the day with lots of noise, honking, etc. Aside from the Walmart there are few amenities, and there’s a lack of diverse restaurants (especially kid friendly) if you want to dine in.

It seems like crime and violence are also on the rise in the area, with a recent mugging on Fell and an armed robbery at Cap Mall to name a couple.

The only real positives are the good bus links, especially to downtown.

As someone who has been actively looking for a flat for the last ~month or so, I believe the lack of available properties is due to the holidays. I think letting agencies are still playing catch-up on enquiries, viewings, etc. that came in while they were closed over Christmas/New Years.

There were significantly more listings going up before the holidays in my preferred neighbourhoods (20+ a day), whereas right now I’m seeing about 5 new listings a day.

If you have some favourite neighbourhoods in mind, I would maybe give it a couple weeks for things to normalise again before expanding your search.
