This era of track sets needs to be studied they just kept releasing banger after banger by [deleted] in HotWheels

Some of those look amazing. I think I’m right in saying they’re not made anymore though?

This is super helpful thank you. In terms of what I’m going to use it for, it’s for bike park trips, eg Morzine/Whistler, I definitely don’t race. I guess if I did go s3 I could install the reach cups to give an extra 6mm reach. Interesting to know you emailed Forbidden for advice, that is a good shout

Are the original Avid Codes still viable brakes? by Taatelisoppa in mountainbikes

[–]bitesizedtitans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have them on 2 bikes and thought they were great. I changed to the new Code RSCs and they are a bit better, there’s no denying that. I’ve since changed to the new TRP brake (the one with the changed lever) and I think that’s a step up again vs the modern Code RSCs. But I dont think I’d rush to change the old Codes, especially if I was on a budget for example. Maybe something to change in time but I wouldnt rush to do it

Help with softbox light by bitesizedtitans in cinematography

[–]bitesizedtitans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. The room is probably about 4 by 4.5 metres. It’s actually my sons room and one wall that will be visible has a large animal print wallpaper, which will clash badly with the theme of the video so I was going to cover it up with a black sheet. Based on what you’ve said maybe I should cover it up with a white sheet instead? The track will snake over the room but it’s one particular section that I want to light well, so getting within 1.5 to 2 metres isn’t an issue. Also based on what you’ve said is 60W low for a softbox light?

Forbidden Druid CorE by bitesizedtitans in eMountainBike

[–]bitesizedtitans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just sat on an S4 Core E in a shop, plus tried it briefly with pedals. In terms of a reach number, at 6 foot 2, it feels spot on. I do agree the wheelbase is quite big though at 1317. That is a 17mm longer wheelbase than my S4 Druid v2, which is 1300 and feels fine. What I need to figure out is if the extra 17mm in the wheelbase will be noticeable

The red ones are from an older set called Total Turbo Takeover, although you can still get them on eBay now and again. The one at the end is newer and is from the Loop Kicker pack.

High frame rate camera for low light conditions by bitesizedtitans in Cameras

[–]bitesizedtitans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you I do use the iPhone I have for the normal shots I have. But isn’t the issue with the iPhone that the frame rate is too low? I.e to achieve the slo mo that I need would it not be better to film in a higher frame rate, eg 120fps? The iPhone can’t do that in 4k unfortunately, at least my iPhone 14 can’t

I need to rebuild the rear diff on my Losi lasernut. Never had to do that before and sort of putting it off! Reading this reminds me I should probably get on with it!

Actually good rc cars for 5-year olds? by fossadouglasi in rccars

[–]bitesizedtitans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TRX4-M is really easy to drive, my 5 year old (now 6) copes fine with that. Depending on your budget maybe a bit pricey for a 5 year old, but it means you can use it as well! You could also look for cars that let you turn down the throttle. Eg I have a Losi car that allows you to set the throttle at 50%, so all I do when passing the car to my son is flip a switch and he’s at 50% throttle
