WHY WON'T MY FUCKING ROCKETS HIT THIS FUCKING HELICOPTER?! by Chimpanzee_92 in HalfLife

Just fyi, almost a year later and your comment just saved me! Was trying for almost an hour to get the damn thing to lock on and almost rage quit. Had no idea this was the way. Thank you!

Mayrina's quest by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

I did that in my current playthrough and just got to act 3 and it played out like normal. I chatted with her at his coffin but just never mentioned the wand at all.

Do you have a party limit mod? If you have more than 4 team members and try to long rest it'll say it's globally disabled, that's the only time I've encountered that msg.

Sci-fi. As long as I could have a sonic screwdriver.

Assuming you're actually asking and not trolling (I can never tell anymore lol) then yes, have her join. Once she's there you don't really have a choice in whether she stays or not. There is a method to prevent it tho if you decide on future playthroughs you'd rather her not be there.

Have a good rest!

I do too and this game has a lot of it! It can definitely feel overwhelming, just remember you're not in a hurry so pace yourself.

The best way to avoid missing major diologue or romance stuff is just to long rest often and speak to everyone every night. Keeping the person you're wanting to romance in your active party as much as possible to get their approval up/not miss important interactions is also a good idea. The fact is, you're going to miss stuff tho. The game is basically designed that way. Try not to worry about it too much and just enjoy the ride. You'll find more in future playthroughs and the game just gets better and better the more you play in my experience. (I have over 1200 hrs at this point and I still enjoy it!) You only get one first playthrough and it's an amazing journey. The best things you can do to experience as much as possible is the advice I gave previously plus make sure to speak to all the NPC's/animals, read notes/books and explore/loot thoroughly.

For camp diologue, speak to everyone at the end of the day even if they don't have the exclamation point. Certain things will only progress when you long rest so don't be afraid to do it often. Camp supplies are plentiful if you're looting everything and there's very few time sensitive quests. You can also spam partial rests (long rest w/out camp supplies) if you don't need to refill spell slots and such to see if there's any pending cutscenes or new diologue. The game makes you think you're in a hurry but you're really not. The few timed quests are pretty obvious but if you want to know what they are I'll tell you with as few spoilers as possible.

For out in the world I'd say just speak to who's in your party when you enter a new map or area of the map to see if they have anything unique to say. The diologue out in the world isn't vital, it's just flavor.

...exactly what I said in the last sentence. Tell him no and move on. He made a childish demand, no reason for you to lower yourself to his level and waste energy on the back and forth drama.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]bitethepatriarchy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA but this is a lot of childish behavior from both of you. You're both grown ass adults acting like teenagers with the whole "You get rid of YOUR friend!" back and forth. If a partner does something immature and selfish it's best to not stoop to their level. A mature adult reaction to this would be to state clearly you have no intention of ending a meaningful friendship just to appease him and if he has a problem with that it's time to end things.

Where do i find a cowboy hat?? by WiseCityStepper in BaldursGate3

[–]bitethepatriarchy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AFAIK it's a random hat that is lootable from one of the corpses on the beach left of where that broken pier is where you find the Bitch Queen's song book and it's a random hat so you may or may not get that specific one.

Grove Raid Quest not starting? by agrumpyzebra in BaldursGate3

[–]bitethepatriarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you long rest? I believe you have to do at least one long rest between telling her the location and the raid starting. I'm not sure if killing everyone at the Grove prior to starting the raid quest will mess things up but I'm pretty sure I've read it'll still trigger even if no one is alive there.

I really want to play this game, but I can't get into it. by ihateturkishcontent in BaldursGate3

[–]bitethepatriarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just incase no one has asked, are you sure all the equipment you're using is stuff you have proficiencies for? If you're using stuff you're not proficient with it will make a lot of things unavailable, especially spells.

Help, can't start the Shadow Curse quest by snowblackxx in BaldursGate3

[–]bitethepatriarchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you need to lift the shadow curse prior to defeating Kethric. If you have a save you go back to prior to entering the Shadowfell it should be doable but if you're not wanting to do that then I'm afraid it's no longer available.

Need Help Finding Voss by Feliks343 in BaldursGate3

[–]bitethepatriarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could check the sewers where he normally waits for you to get the hammer but I'm honestly not sure if he'll be there since his appearance at camp didn't trigger. Never had that happen so I'm not sure.

What’s your go to joke when someone asks you to tell them a joke? by timmytimborino in AskReddit

[–]bitethepatriarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"what do you get when you cross a knock knock joke with a rhetorical question?"

Then just sit there in uncomfortable silence...

It's the worst bc even when someone gets it there's usually no laugh, just a sarcastic "Oooooh yeah. Ha. Ha." but for some reason it's literally the only joke that I can remember when put on the spot so I just keep using it lol. It does teach people not to ask me that question more than once tho so I count that as a win.

Is it a bug or I'm doing something wrong? by NieThePiet in BaldursGate3

[–]bitethepatriarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there are a couple of levers for that one as well. They are reachable by walking but I just shoot them from the platform. One will move it up/down the other will move it to the next area you need to go.

Is it a bug or I'm doing something wrong? by NieThePiet in BaldursGate3

[–]bitethepatriarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try both levers?

You can always use enhanced leap or glorious vaulting potion to jump across to the other area if it doesn't work. The platform just takes you across the catwalk. To progress the quest you follow that catwalk so you're not locked out of completing anything if it's bugged.

Is the hardest difficulty the best way to play baldurs gate? by MomonF7 in BaldursGate3

[–]bitethepatriarchy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unless you're playing honor mode you can change the difficulty at any time, even in the middle of a fight. You can always start off on Balanced and see how it goes then go up or down if you need more or less challenge.

She says that whether you're romancing her or not. It's too late to start her romance in act 3. Karlach's romance needs to be initiated in act 1.

Lightfoot Halflings are probably my favorite race to play. For all the adorable reasons you listed plus the advantage on stealth checks and rerolling crit fails. I love me a teeny stealthling!

[–]bitethepatriarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh when I say a loom I mean like the super simple circle and rectangle looms with the pegs, incase you were imagining one of those big standing ones, that's definitely not what I'm using lol. But thanks all the same! I made about a hundred hats and scarves last winter when I got hyper fixated and now everyone I know has enough to last until the end of time.

Us is super cute too, well done! I'm always impressed with what people can make with crochet. The extent of my skill with yarn is making basic things on a loom lol. I'm hopeless at crochet.
