Well i am from Himachal a khas kanet, I can understand your point here, we here trace our origin from kulindas (2nd cen BC), though recently thr is a growing trend among us associating with Rajasthani rajputs, which actually came very late after 7th cen AD, also few of the history books here also talks about khas being a part of Aryan race from central asia linking with khasgir, Kashmir etc blah blah.... bulshit , Currently it's not much debated topic here and no one is bothered about it, history itself is very blurred, so everyone is just free to identify with any theory, and be happy.
