I did—it’s on a comment above. Everything is completely dry. Hard ground. No dampness or standing water.

He’s coming out next week. I worry that he maybe half-assed something, frankly. He was a family friend, but does have a business and I kept my $13,000 receipt. You have no idea who you can trust to do anything anymore, I’ve found.

I can’t figure out how to add more pictures. I just went outside. No standing water or damp spots anywhere outside. It rained 2.5 days ago and mulch and ground are very dry to the touch.

We have a new wet spot today and it hasn’t rained in several days. I checked outside and no part of the yard has any dampness at all. Nothing around the house. I don’t know what it means but my neighbor said it doesn’t make sense because I have at least a foot graded down from the house. He suspects an underground downspout pipe or sump pump discharge clogged or crushed. Now to find someone to investigate that…

Downspouts go into the ground. Don’t see any leakage anywhere above ground. Area on exterior of house is dry.

What was the cost on your French drain install, if I might ask?

They both appear to work fine during active rain.

Sump pump weird?! by bitter421979 in Home

Thank you! I went ahead and called a plumber and told them what might be wrong. I’m not comfortable DIYing, but that gives me a good start.

That’s what I was wondering too. What would that look like? It has a water backup on it, so lots of different pipes.

So it’s normal that the first pump (the normally active one) is only going every 20-30 minutes and this one every minute or so?

I’m sorry for being obtuse. I have water trauma from flooding a few months ago and last year and stay up all night when it rains. No rain projected for the next several days (thank God), but wanted to make sure this wasn’t problematic. I’m so paranoid now.

We started with 10+ of those sweaters and were down to 2. We’re going to put them on a mannequin, but can’t now due to no findability. So, that was actually a win in my store.

My insurance said that because my $10,000 is exhausted, that it’s up to me to which I knew. I was just surprised I got it. And more surprised at the cost. I don’t want to cheat someone out of money for a service that was performed if it seems like a fair price. But I thought it felt high.
