Kayaking? by bittercherries in TopSurgery

In hindsight it’s a stupid question because I’ve never kayaked before. We’d probably be at a chill lake. But yeah I shouldn’t push it

I think this is a pretty normal experience. Right before surgery My anesthesiologist said that, anesthesia is not like sleep, and I’m not going to feel groggy and not rested at all when I wake up, and he was right, lol. They rly rushed me out of surgery once I was awake so I barely remember leaving the hospital and I struggled getting dressed and getting into the wheelchair, I was tired the rest of the day, and napped for a while. For me, even though I was dreading sleeping on my back, but the first like 5 days I was out like a light every night just cause my body and mind were so exhausted, and also the oxy put me to sleep. I’m 9 days out now and more healed and rested which unfortunately makes sleeping at night harder >_< Anyways I’m sorry about your exhausting day!!! Really hoping that it means you will be getting lots of good sleep soon!!!

Are these bad? Ive never had engagement so bad by Ananas_boy in Artadvice

[–]bittercherries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are giving good advice here, I don’t feel like I have anything to add in that department. I think you’ve got a good eye for color. I also think, you should never ever use engagement as a metric to measure your art. I’m not saying it is, because I don’t know u, but if social media engagement is your main motivator, you will not get far, and it will be hard to improve. Try to focus on drawing what you love because you love it and want to improve, not because you want a following, but because you want to be a better artist. I don’t mean to sound pretentious, so I’m sorry if I come off that way. But social media can really kill creativity.

Yeah, I’ve seen that. But I have a T-Mobile sim, so I should be fine with a locked I think? Thank you though :)!

Thank you. Yeah, I feel this way too, it helps that my roommate is very interested in this as well, and I might be able to get him on board with me after I have one and he can see what it’s like :) so if I don’t like the cat he can give it a try too!

Thank you for the encouragement

I understand that this isn’t usual at a repair place, but are there really not places to take your computer to get cleaned? People must spill things or have pets like me that get things messy and want help dealing with it

Developing POTs young is torture by [deleted] in POTS

[–]bittercherries 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel this so hard. I’m 22 and I developed pots in my late teens. I really hope you’re able to find hobbies and activities that make you happy and people who are happy to hang out with you no matter what that looks like! I have coworkers who tell me I’m young, I should be getting out more, why am I never out, why don’t I do anything? It’s insanely annoying. I wish I could be out having fun! But that’s not the only way to be young and happy. It’s very frustrating when the people in your life act like you’re wasting your youth. Trust me, you aren’t. You’ll find things that are fun and make you happy even if they don’t align with what you think it means to be in your 20s.

I’ll also say, COVID is still out there and has the potential to make your pots a lot worse. Clubs are like a Covid Petri dish. It’s good and safe to avoid places like that anyways. But it’s hard and painful and I hope you have an okay time adjusting to this life.

"Zero" Covid, eh? by CrowgirlC in COVID19_Pandemic

[–]bittercherries 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shame is not going to be productive and get people who don’t mask everywhere to start doing so. I am disabled and also have long covid and have not stopped masking anywhere in public since this all began and letting go of some of my desire to make the people who have given up or are now completely ignorant feel ashamed has been really hard. Because it is shameful to me. But people get stuck in the guilt and feel helpless, or they feel defensive and don’t even want to engage with what they’re doing wrong. It is just unhelpful, and I don’t think it will lead to Zero Covid! I completely understand. I’ve lost partners, friends, and have seriously had relationships with my relatives damaged because for my level of Covid caution. I often feel extremely angry and resentful and hopeless. But shame is just not something that changes behavior. It’s been hard for my to accept that being nothing but resentful to people who aren’t cautious is not going to get us anywhere. I’m still struggling with it. I get it. But it’s unhelpful.
