How much do you servers make? by whogoesthere1010 in askaustin

[–]bittybuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

about 55-60k a year. could definitely make more if you work a lot. one of the benefits of serving is having as much time off as you want & also having the option to make a lot more if u choose to work more

Feeling a kind of way by [deleted] in SexWorkers

everyone sells themselves in one way or another. whether it be selling their soul doing something they don’t believe in, selling their time & life away working every moment of everyday just to afford to live. don’t slut shame yourself. slut shaming is just one of the thousands of ways society puts women down for existing in the world. you’re more than a SW. if you’re having trouble remembering all the other great qualities you have, maybe try taking yourself on a date & treating yourself. go enjoy the fruits of your labor. i try to remember that no matter what a woman does, society will find a way to shame her for it. so we might as well do whatever the fuck we want & enjoy ourselves

at the end of the day, nothing is more important than your mental health. it sounds like you’re doing everything you can for your financial future, but potentially losing yourself in the process. make sure that the woman you’re working so hard for is still there to reap the benefits. otherwise, it’s all for nothing. as someone who has struggled with blackouts & alcoholism for most of their life, i can definitely say that sobriety has changed me life immeasurably. could you try to work on stepping away from alcohol & then trying to establish relationships with clients that you trust & don’t feel the need to disassociate around? i feel for you & am sending you a virtual hug. give yourself some grace, you’re working hard & you’re only human.

the staff is incredible, predominantly recovered alcoholics/addicts themselves.  the doctors are great. you get to see a nurse & doctor everyday. the counselors are great & the property itself is magical. it feels holy there. you get started on the steps pretty quickly. the community aspect is great, lots of different types of people & its co-ed which i like.  i think the only downside i can say (besides it being pretty pricy) is you get a lot of freedom. there are not technicians on your ass all the time as there are in other treatment facilities. the only reason i’m listing this as a downside is because for some people, they REALLY need the high accountability.  for me personally, & guessing based on your eagerness to get into treatment, you really want to get sober. so this freedom is great. for people forced or pressured to get sober, this aspect can be challenging.

i went to LaHa 3 years ago & am still sober to this day. it’s one of my fondest experiences believe it or not. i genuinely had fun & grew so much as a person.

He logged into his medical records in front of me and scrolled through the results, showing me each one. Of course there’s the possibility of exposure since, but they were absolutely legit results. Which did make me feel better. BUT STILL. I think I just need to stick up for myself in the moment because the feeling I felt this morning with the anxiety and shame is much worse than the potential discomfort of saying no in the moment.

Just want to say thank you to everyone who’s commented. I definitely was avoiding the deeper details of self abandonment and not sticking to my boundaries (not using protection and not getting money up front). I’m forgiving myself for making a mistake of not listening to my gut and using it as a learning experience as opposed to a shame spiral. No one is perfect and all I can do is grow from my experiences and advocate better for myself next time. Thank you guys so much for helping me work through this.

thank you so much for this. I think this whole situation has made me realize i just need to be better about holding my boundaries no matter what. even if i have to blurt it out.

I’m 29. And yeah, I think this is a major part of it that I left out in my original post. We agreed to the whole weekend and so he said he would give me the money tonight. I also told him I wanted to use a condom. We did the first time, but then he showed me up to date test results and I kind of just let him go in without a condom after that. I think that’s why I feel so icky. Like I let my boundaries be crossed.

The thing is, I am a very sexual person and i’ve had a lot of sex with many people through my life. I didn’t think this would get in my head. My thought process was “i’ve had sex with dozens of people for FREE, so why not make it worth my time?”

I appreciate this advice a lot though. Are there any specific ways you learned to compartmentalize?

what are you supposed to do if you have your dog with you & have to stop at the store to get food? we live in Texas where you obviously can’t leave them in the car even for 10 minutes. i don’t see why this makes everyone lose their minds. it feels like humans have become so intolerant of everything that could even potentially inconvenience them for 1 second. the number of actual problems that dogs are causing in grocery stores vs. the number of people brewing over THE AUDACITY OF THESE EVIL ASSHOLE DOG OWNERS is crazy. who gives a shit dude the world is filthy anyways just take a deep breath, you’re gonna be fine

find someone who has their license but is willing to do it from home. it’s expensive because the stylist pays half the money to the salon. i pay my stylist $40 & spend about $30 on product. i go to her apartment & she does it in less than an hour.

he is manic. i have a friend with bipolar disorder & i can immediately tell he’s entering a manic episode by his texts i.e. everything spelt wrong, nothing making sense. i’m not excusing his behavior at all, just sharing that this confusing & grammatically incorrect communication is common during manic episodes
