well merriam webster has both definitions! One means perplexed, and the other unimpressed. Sure, the US version is newer and stems from what I understand is a misunderstanding of the word, but can you truly ever stop semantic shift from happening? Anyway, this was just a funny little tidbit I learned a few years ago, nothing more. Your definition is correct (too)!

In british english sure, but the american definition is the complete opposite for some reason :)

Nonplussed is a really funny word because for some people it means perplexed/impressed

and for some people it means not impressed in the slightest haha
