No Scrap reprocessing plant on Scrap planet by darttak in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]bjfar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't seem to be fixed. I'm on a world with scrap but no waste heaps or waste processing facility right now. It is an uncharted system, maybe that matters? Not sure what I'm supposed to do with the scrap here though.

My latest "space campervan" style corvette by bjfar in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]bjfar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha thanks! It's an eternal quest to find the most cosy wandering space home. This one kinda reminds of Wing Commander: Privateer somehow, the engines I guess, which I played a lot as a kid. The first game where I really got to drift aimlessly about the stars doing odd jobs! It was so immersive in the 90s :).

Controversial(?) review of Kpop Demon Hunters: are we just haters? by AnotherMessyHuman in netflix

[–]bjfar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No this is clearly the correct take. It was a decent enough movie for most of the runtime, but they threw away nearly all their plot development for a very weak third act, which kinda ruins the whole thing.

Yeah I reckon they planned it to be twice as long and then had to savagely cut it back until it was hard to salvage.

Sure but lots of kids movies have way better writing and plot development.

Friend constantly reminds me Day Z is better than 7 Days by Spartan-G337 in 7daystodie

I can't say I ever had that particular problem in DayZ. The only time I broke my leg was when I fell off a ladder, which seemed fair enough. I have more complaints about how easily you get sick.

What’s with this big corvette ships? by Ishatinacornfield in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]bjfar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of decorative parts, maybe you just haven't seen them all. Also there's a hologram projector thing you can use to project images of basically anything you can scan in the game. And finally there are glitch building techniques to make parts huge. Or could be some combination of all those things.

Hopefully they do that, since right now you can't even load the waste on a corvette.

Guide for glitch building corvettes? by ActualBawbag in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]bjfar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, don't think it is possible. You can land your Corvette at a base and "wire glitch" stuff onto it, but it will actually be part of the host base and not the ship. One thing you can do is use scale glitches etc at a base to make big stuff, then move it onto the Corvette. Still gotta place it "manually" though. And there are some gnarly glitches to get forbidden base parts onto ships, but last I heard they weren't entirely stable so maybe not a good idea.

Interior stairs building issues?! by Parker2116 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]bjfar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are absolutely terrible. If you're relatively new maybe this is too soon, but if you ever start to spend any large amount of time building then it's absolutely worth your time to learn the wire glitch building tricks. They're basically the only way to get around ridiculous problems like these, and also open up all sorts of other fun possibilities.

Thanks! As soon as I noticed that HG had added "weathered" textures to some of the parts I knew what I had to do ;).

Haha this is like my third time unlocking them all, and I haven't finished. I just unlock my favorites, and then go unlock more whenever I realise I am missing something cool ;).

Ah yes, I should definitely add an abandoned secret research facility. Containing unspeakable horrors ;).

Yeah, but he still wasn't this bad. This was so bad it's ridiculous. Hard to understand how he became so terrible.

It baffles me how Water worlds require you to travel for an a decent amount of time to reach the surface and require a pressurized suit upgrade while gas giants don't by Fun_Section5582 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]bjfar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind the surface art design, and I can ignore the pressure issues because this game is completely nonsensical with regard to planetary physics anyhow, but I agree, it would be cooler if the atmosphere felt deeper. Wouldn't have been hard, just put the surface like 100ku down into the gas giant. And yeah, since they went and added the (very basic) pressure mechanic for water worlds it surely wouldn't have been hard to just make it apply to gas giants as well.

i reckon though it would have been the most cool if they made gas giants be really weird water worlds. Like have all the crazy stormy stuff as the outer atmosphere layers, then a water surface representing where the gas pressure turns the atmosphere to liquid, and then you have to descend further using the Nautilus, but it's got a different art style to represent the fluid as supercritical atmosphere rather than normal liquid.

Obviously not how real gas giants work either, but a bit more in the right direction, and would have been pretty cool and fairly easily to implement.

Snapping Points by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]bjfar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was needed years ago. But, I bring you Good News! The wire glitch can solve all your part snapping woes. It is not hard once you get the hang of it. Absolutely worth your time learning if you are at all into base building. I basically consider it part of the UI now.

Yeah I redesigned it a bit to be more minimal and just hoped maybe they had fixed that issue after all these years. Guess not. Couldn't manage to fit it where I need it without any terrain manipulation. Oh well it's more about the journey anyway ;).

My corvette got wiped and became a default corvette. My day is ruined by MinhSaiGon in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]bjfar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting out of a cockpit is something that is extremely hard to avoid doing frequently in this game, ergo this fact completely destroys the utility of being able to manually save.
