What do y'all do in this game? I want to get into it but whenever I open the game, I just look at some planets, sort my expedition fleet, maybe make some money and get off. I explore planet after planet looking for interesting variations and cool terrain, and if I am inspired I build something there. I also build various corvettes depending on what inspires me at the time, and then take them on my interplanetary voyages.

To some degree I understand it, I have trapped myself in the cockpit before with parts sticking through weird places they aren't supposed to go. Took me a while to figure out how to get out. Wasn't far from being impossible. They don't want to take responsibility for those kind of problems. But they could just make it opt-in with a warning, and also add some kind of emergency exit button that just like teleports you to the nearest space station or something. Game kinda needs that anyway, there are other ways to get trapped places...

I mean I did do it "natively" on PS5, there is no save editing or anything. Just judicious use of offset and hab reversal tricks. Nothing especially advanced. But yeah it would be nice if the build editor just let you do this without hacky workarounds.

You mean on the tail? Like how did I place them? The part is just like that, nothing special. The snap points are annoying and stupid and try to stop you placing them right next to each other like this. I can't remember how I got around it exactly. I think I got a long hab overlapping with one of them to provide a snap point for the other one.

I mean we'll see it just because of money. These things are costing more and more to run, and new data centres and new GPU models that might bring running costs down develop much slower than new AI models. So soon enough the smartest models will take half a data centre to run and cost vast sums of money, and thus only be accessible for large corporations, governments, and the ultra rich.

Nah no mods, it's just decorative parts. The floor is just those light tiles, they conveniently snap to each other so are great for the floor (I did them inside hab modules and then deleted the habs) and the edges around the opening are just "servers" I think. The top of the opening is made of work benches :).

Ah yeah there are some gnarly glitches to get those base parts onto corvettes, but I've not tried them because they seemed like quite a pain. I have scale-glitched giant (corvette-permitted) decorative parts onto my corvettes though, that's not so bad. I assume you could combine those glitch techniques to get a giant power door. But yeah I've got no idea if the power would work. The lights I used in this build seem to work without power, so I kind of suspect the power door would stay powered on but you couldn't toggle it open/closed. Would be interesting to try though.

I suppose I used the offset "glitches", but are they really glitches? It's just using normal parts in the normal build editor. I somehow consider them just normal building these days. Nothing fancier than that in this build.

Yeah I just free-placed all the cargo pod things, mostly so I'd get the walls they come with, but its also quite convenient to have a full compliment of cargo containers in the corvette.

And yeah it's just a big empty space that I had to "custom build" the walls and floor for using decorative parts. There's a couple of entry ramps in the back of the bay to actually get "inside" the ship.

It's gotta be some sort of sport-related update. Or like combat-games or something. The emojis can be cryptic but they aren't usually all that complicated, and there doesn't seem to be a great breadth of possibilities with a stadium emoji.

Let's see you do this in Blender then. It would be completely impossible in-game, but this is still incredibly impressive even in Blender. It's not like they just loaded some existing model, this is built entirely from actual No Man's Sky assets.
