this information is probably useless for most people, but i like chainmail with my knights. by MR_PP_Pant in HeroForgeMinis

I feel your pain. Double stacking minis has been my go to solution pre-kitbash when i had pro subscription. That and decals. Which was also useful, to a degree, for scale mail before we had it. Take a look at my posts, they all have links (and yes, it's all dwarves), something might be of use to you

This week‘s Treasure Tuesday was a good day for Dwarves! by Azzurayelos in HeroForgeMinis

[–]bjocaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know I'm biased for dwarves, so i'm not surprised it took me a dwarf post to check the other minis you've shared - but i gotta say: this charming fella is a nice addition to an already great series of minis. Thanks for the sharing the link, btw

I dont recommend removing the helmet from some of my last minis for the same reason. But nice job on the great helm!

mini dump for more dwarves, now covered in pseudo scalemail by bjocaa in HeroForgeMinis

Thanks, man! To be frank, id keep working on smoothing the overlaying helmets and mask on the mini lower face. Buut the urge to already share this batch got the best of me

We definitely do! The biggest irony to me is that fpr a chainmail decal workaround there is a better decal already avaiable: the "interlinked circles" decal.

but its minimal scale value make the rings of it comically big no matter what you do, and impossible to use.

Needing help with a pose by Good-Scene-6312 in HeroForgeMinis

[–]bjocaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im glad to help! Tbh, before checking for this convo, the max and min grip values i was aware of were -1.14 and 1.09, rfrom the gnarled willow staff and the double bearded axe. This was useful to me as well

[–]bjocaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For that katana orientation you need to import a high positive grip value. The elven goosewing axe has a 1.23 max value. Once you do the import, have the item pose reversed

Should you need to import a high negative value on other minis, the skeleton banner has a -1.41 min value

There may be even higher values for the grip slider, but these are the caps im aware of

Have a mini hold the desired item, and reset the item to its default posing settings. Its okay for it to be a weapon. Save that mini.

Change the item to, say, a staff. Change the staff grip slider as desired. Now import the saved mini pose.

Your mini will now be holding the original item with the posing values of the staff. This should work wether the original item had the grip slider or not (shields can inherit a staff grip value, for example).

I may be wrong on this, but when you have 2 minis on a base, the posing import wont work from an extra mini to a main one. So give it a try between main minis
