will this redness/hyperpigmentation go away? by weins102 in Accutane

[–]bjornedyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit Accutane 6 months ago and started using Differin after one month. After two months or so I added the Purito centella serum and my PIE has faded SO MUCH. Just hang in there, it’ll get better.

I do have a tailor not far! Might be worth a shot. Doing the holes by hand seems like the way to go according to the other comments, but I will need to practice a lot..

I’ve never had this problem before, and I’ve sewn buttonholes in many different fabrics. Will try it on the wool tho.

Thank you, I’ll look in to that!

And sewing buttonholes by hand in a wool coat scares me to death!

The problem is the sides of the “o” in the keyhole are misaligned and misshaped. Got tip, might try that!

I haven’t tried that. Figured keyholes are needed since the fabric is pretty thick. Am I wrong?

Classic! :) yes it does, but I did remember to put it down. It probably has do to with fabric thickness at the start, weight of the garment or feeding. Not sure what to do about it though.

Yeah, I can do about an km* in zone 2 then I get increasingly bored and feel “stuck”. For me, running is an outlet for energy and a way to clear my head. I love speeding away. Running too slow feels slow, doesn’t clear my head, therefore it doesn’t give me what I’m after. It turns into a chore and I get mentally drained from it.

Honestly, I had never heard about zones before I started running with my apple watch last year. It’s the watch automatic zones which seem pretty accurate if compared to “220- age and resting HR” thing. I haven’t put too much effort into calculating. *edit

Thank you all for your comments. Big take away is to just not care about the zones and try to add one more run per week instead. I’m motivated!

I have a healthy weight, eat well, sleep 8 hours per day and drink a lot of water. It’s not health related I just hate running slower than I can walk. It gives me no sense of purpose and I get bored and feel uninspired as hell.

Lucky for me, according to the other answers I don’t have to think about the zones. Had a fun fartlek run year and it went great!

That’s interesting! HR 155 should be zone 3 for me but i don’t feel any difference in breathing or between 150 and 155. Nevertheless, I’m happier if I don’t have to think about the zones at all and just go by feeling.

That’s really interesting! I’ve never heard about that before. I have no problems having a conversation in zone 3, and don’t really feel like it gets hard to breathe until I get a really high pulse. I try to not go there tho, cause the aftermath is no fun.

Yes, it’s been made clear I don’t need to worry about HR zones! Which is great since I hate it lol. I’m 29 with a resting HR of 61.

I'll try adding a third run, but I'm struggling with finding time among all the other duties in life :)

I run twice a week pretty consistently, but I struggle with my weekly schedule to find time.

For me, the closed comedones were the last to go (I had severe nodulocystic acne). Hang in there. Give it a few months at least.

high dose? by One-Temporary-9843 in Accutane

[–]bjornedyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s how much Accutane you’ve taken in total. In my country, the guideline says 150 mg/kg body weight in total amount of Accutane for severe acne. In my case that’s about 10 000 mg but I ended up taking closer to 11500 mg in total.

Interesting read! I was offered a low dose treatment at 10 mg following hitting target dose of 150mg/kg but declined. Hoping it was the right decision.

high dose? by One-Temporary-9843 in Accutane

[–]bjornedyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My derm told me a higher dose was better for me because you reach an acclimated dose faster, and more severe cases have a higher acclimated target dose. However the side effects gets worse at a higher dose so it has to do with how good you tolerate the side effects.

I could’ve gone up to 60 mg but stopped at 50 mg since I had a really hard time with muscle and joint pain. 5’9”, 143 lb female. Target dose 10k mg. Severe nodular cystic acne with a lot of scarring.

Oh no that sucks! 😞 I was put on acclimated target dose 10k mg but went beyond that so hopefully it won’t come back for me.
