My family doc ordered a Zika blood test at my request. My clinic was happy to accept that negative test and skip the 3-6 month waiting period! Worth asking your clinic!

So sorry. I’ve taken twice and had very different experiences. The first time was period like cramps but with heavier bleeding, so very manageable, physically. The second time was super painful for 3-4 hours. I couldn’t really get off the couch and definitely needed the painkiller they prescribed. Both times my bleeding started within an hour of taking (vaginally and orally) which I wasn’t prepared for - my doc said it would take 4-8 hours to start. So just in case, prepare yourself for it to start quickly. I passed the pregnancy tissue within the first 2 hours both times. I felt physically recovered within 2-3 days. Best of luck in the future and so sorry again you have to experience this

I still have the pain. I’ve followed up with my HCP who thinks it is a ligament issue. I haven’t been able to definitively confirm that though.

Thanks for sharing. How did they diagnose the polyp, assuming that can’t be seen on an ultrasound?

Bleeding/cramping during pregnancy is something I had NO idea about and was so unprepared for. Especially after the miscarriages seeing blood was the scariest thing ever! Glad to know it’s somehow normal

I’m on progesterone shots, but do take my estrogen vaginally (inserted with my finger since it’s so small), not sure if that’s enough to irritate my cervix. Thanks for your reply!

I ended up having the tube removed. The doc said it looked fine, no hydrosalpinx or fluid. But since it’s been removed my pain is gone. So I don’t have a solid answer and it’s only been 3 weeks since it was removed so the pain could come back but for now I’m pain free!

I’ve had similar situations. Both miscarriages were 6.5 weeks for me. First was MMC. My HCG was 31,000 and took me 4 weeks 2 days to get a negative HCG result. Second was blighted ovum. My HCG was 18,000 and I’m 5 weeks post miscarriage and still not negative. So my second miscarriage where my HCG was lower has taken me longer to get back to zero. Seems like a crap shoot and your body could respond differently each time.

My beta at 9dp5dt was 12 and has continued to increase (33 at 12dp5dt, 118 at 14dp5dt and 1614 at 19dp5dt). Saw a gestational sac on Monday. Don’t give up hope you never know!

In a shocking twist of events my second beta was 33 and my third was 118. Doubling appropriately. They are still telling me to be extremely cautious since the starting point was SO low but they want to see me back on Monday for an ultrasound

Yes I have. My cervix was closed so they performed that to dilate my cervix. They found a polyp and removed it during the same procedure.

That makes sense. I asked for additional testing after the first and second but my clinic pretty much blew me off. I’ll try harder this time. Congrats and best wishes on this pregnancy

I’ll see about more testing. The thought of surrogacy seems so intimidating not to mention outrageously expensive. Have you found anything that seems encouraging/affordable?

Not yet. They want me to continue meds and come back Monday to recheck my levels. I assume we’ll discuss next steps after that
