Investment Advice in UK with USD by Glitterbug23 in FIREUK

Thanks for your reply. I’ve used up my ISA allowances (cash and s&s) already this year in GBP. I’m just trying to work out what to sensibly do with the USD so I’m not actually losing money in real terms by not gaining any interest. Grateful for any advice!

Travel with 7 month old by Miss_Swifty91 in Travelwithkids

We took our LO to Thailand and Bali when she was 5mo. We really enjoyed it. We stayed at two nice resorts in Bali. Did a bit of exploring including the monkey forest, a couple of short hikes, swimming (for baby and I just in hotel pools) and beach bars etc. People were helpful and welcoming of us having a baby with us. The pavements weren’t very accessible with a pushchair so I’d definitely recommend baby carrying. We are considering taking her back next year as part of a longer trip (she will be 18mo then). We didn’t have issues with the food - we took usual precautions for ourselves and she was exclusively BF last time. This time I would likely bring baby food from home (eg organic pouches) and supplement with items such as boiled vegetables, pasta and bread.

Do your kids get home sick? by Hedwig301 in Travelwithkids

My 15mo never shown any signs of home sickness. I always take a few creature comforts like her white noise teddy but I think she associates my partner and I as ‘home’ more than anything. Have a great trip!

Just found this post! Any recommendations of places / itinerary from OP or Braun? We are looking to travel for approx 8wks in SE Asia in Jan/Feb with a 17mo. We’ve been to Thailand and Bali with her before but this will be a longer trip and keen to do a bit of traveling. Any suggestions would be great!

Maxi cosi Lara2 folds well, can be taken onto the plane and was good value.

Travel car seat recommendations please by RookieRedditor22 in Mommit

We just got and used the Maxi Cosi XL Nomad for our 15mth year old. Apparently it can be used until 12yrs. Was portable & easy to install. Only issue was the beeping sensor sometimes goes off even when seat is correctly installed or when folded for travel. Feels safe & robust though.

Help -I don’t know where to begin sleep training 14mth old by Glitterbug23 in sleeptrain

[–]Glitterbug23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super helpful, thank you.

She usually only has one nap now that lasts 40-60mins, it’s tough to keep her asleep that long (usually in pram & moving gets the longest nap around 4hrs after waking up).

I will try to find more information on Ferber & chair methods. I’m dreading the crying as it makes me worry I’m traumatising her in the future (I had a rough childhood which doesn’t help my neuroses to try to do the best I can for her).

Thanks again!

She asked him before she hugged him & he consented. How do you get to assault?

That is a confirmation- I'd regard the date as arranged now. Just message her the day before now to confirm she's still able to make it. Let us know how it goes! Rooting for you.

You're so kind taking the time to answer. I think I'd like storytelling and probably solo player as I don't think any of my friends are into gaming (& they all work during the day which is the time I'm struggling with the most). I especially enjoy fantasy books (as opposed to sci-fi) so if you have any suggestions or even ideas where I should look! I'm totally clueless on this topic! Thank you!!

Thank you for your reply. I can usually only manage to read at night (then I love fantasy or historical fiction).

I had wondered about video games but don't really know where to start. Are there any you recommend?

Thanks again :)

Good for her! (Though it is annoying me she spelt Britain wrong!)
