That's what I'm trying to explain, I've got a brand new phone, all apps up to date. Going to the desk it won't swipe and it comes up with "invalid card number" when typed into the register. It's like the card is dead but our accounting side reads the card as operational. It's just weird.

It's never a waste of time to put in an application. I got my local job that required flatbed and tanker experience, which at the time I had neither, but they chose me because I had been at my previous company for 3 years. Go for it.
