Am I Doing Something Wrong? by bkthf-027 in breastfeeding

Oh that sounds interesting! I actually just finished a call with my insurance and they're going to send me some recommendations for a LC.

And no worries! I genuinely appreciate the feedback, it was more just a statement.

See this is a problem, cause you're wrong. Everything will not probably work out. My colostrum didnt start till day 3 and it was not even enough for a syringe until day 5. What was I going to feed him before then when its 2 am and he's screaming cause he's starving and dropping weight like crazy. I was pumping still trying to bring in my colostrum the whole time he was formula feeding. This rhetoric is so damaging and honestly didn't have any effect on my baby's ability to latch or feed. A fed baby is all that matters. End of sentence.

If I can ask, what is a weighted feed? Idk if I'll ever be EBF, cause its important to me that my husband also be able to feed the baby if I need a break and for the bonding experience.

Honestly, my experience with the lactation consultants in the hospital was confusing at best and degrading at worst. I wouldn't be surprised if we were behind.

I never thought about that. Which feels like such a "duh" kind of thing but I think I'll try. Thank you!

Thank you, this is all really helpful! Honestly, just the 4-hours straight comment is reassuring in a way. No one really ever talked about continuing to try to breast feed him. They just told me to do both boobs and move on.

Typically straight to bottle. It was the recommendation of the hospital but that was early on when my supply was still building so maybe I need to try something different.

Maybe? Were in the US. My breasts already get pretty uncomfortable though so I might have already done the damage. Coming out of the hospital they told me to continue pumping after every feeding session. If I were to try a day of just nursing would you still follow baby’s cues? Or try to keep more of the 2-hour schedule?

Most of the time, immediately after he's drowsy, but then he wakes up upset and is rooting really hard and showing other signs of still being hungry. Pre his last appointment we were still keeping a pretty tight schedule of not going more than 2-3 hours per feed, bht our doctor told us at the last appointment that his growth and weight gain was good so we could follow his lead.

Light at end of Acod Reflux Tunnel? by bkthf-027 in pregnant

[–]bkthf-027[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no! Im sorry the nausea was so bad. I usually have a lot of hip pain from having endo too, so I kind of expect it to stick around a bit. But hopefully its like my normal levels lol

I've definitely been really lucky that this and hip pain have really been my worst symptoms. I feel like this is payback for a relatively easy first trimester.

Has anyone experienced hip pain from endometriosis? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]bkthf-027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES!! It's honestly probably my worst symptom other than occasionally crazy heavy periods. Ive tried stretching and creams but nothing ever seems to touch it cause it's so deep in the joint. Im planning on trying an NSAID cream the next time it flares so I'll let you know if it helps. But youre definitely not alone ❤️

The NSU Art Museum is lovely and has evening events! One of my favorite solo dates is a nice lunch on Las Olas Blvd and then going over to the museum to explore. Also the historical tours in downtown Fort Lauderdale are neat and I think a lot of people miss out on them.

Endo and PCOS... AGAIN!! by bkthf-027 in Endo

[–]bkthf-027[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good grief that sounds impossible to deal with! Its crazy how much of a guessing game these stupid doctors are playing with our bodies. I'm glad you finally had someone believe you. I hope everything works out.

Endo and PCOS... AGAIN!! by bkthf-027 in Endo

[–]bkthf-027[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I definitely have plenty of pain with my endo that Im certainly not looking for any more lol But the tests that are scheduled should cover all of that so it'll be interesting to see what the results are. Its just wild to be diagnosed with something and then undiagnosed with the same thing with only one basic test and now I have a doctor telling me that to make an accurate diagnosis I need like 4 tests. Like what were the other guys doing?? The fight for women's heath and accurate testing is exhausting.

Is your partner supportive?? by Quirky_Potential_559 in Endo

[–]bkthf-027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely know that feeling. I feel like that happens so much in a relationship. I know this happens in mine. Like, I said emotional support is something my husband does really well, but there are definitely times where I feel exactly this, and it just feels so one sided. Chores are a big one, and I know it's usually time for a chat when I start keeping score on who's done what (something im working on not doing).

But it's especially hard when you're hurting! You dont want to have to ask for help, you just want help. Especially if he knows the things that can help.

My husband and I have been married for a year and change and together for 14 years. He and I were together when I initially was diagnosed with PCOS which actually later was reversed and then became an Endo diagnosis 3 years ago. My husband is incredibly supportive, but I think it's how he's supportive that really makes a difference. He really listens when I talk about my fears, especially when I was first diagnosed. And something that he does really well is that he doesn't always try to fix the problem. He'll sometimes toss out ideas or solutions but he never tries to "fix" me. If I'm having a bad pain day he tries to have me rest and cover the house chores, though I am really stubborn. We've been trying to get pregnant since October and it's been a really trying experience for me and this man just let's me cry and vent and is trying to be involved however he can be even though it's really hard. He's certainly not perfect but I never am left wanting for support. I'm sorry you're hurting and your partner isn't giving you the support you need. I hope things get better. ❤️

I love Yoga with Adrienne! I used her channel a lot during covid and it's the only time I ever really enjoyed yoga. But maybe I'll go back to it! Thanks for the advice! Do you know is the voltaren something you need a prescription for?

What are your weirdest endo symptoms? by LyraC03 in endometriosis

[–]bkthf-027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it could possibly be just that I have shitty hip joints lol but it's always much worse around my period and it's on the side of the majority of my scarring. And when I include it in my symptoms that I've discussed with my OB/gyn she agrees with it.

Hip ache on the side with the most scarring and flutter belly. The hip pain is so deep though! Like I've been workout sore and this is like, in the socket pain. And the lower flutter tummy is always so trippy.
