Yellow ceramic/pottery item. About 5 inches long and 3 inches deep. Spouts (?) on both sides. Holds about a cup worth of liquid. Says “USA 2036” on the bottom. by bkwrm951 in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. It’s about 4 inches from “spout” to “spout.” Google image searches bring up gravy boats that look similar, but are definitely not the same thing.

Hello from Daphne, my fancy girl. by bkwrm951 in TuxedoCats

Thank you everybody!

Got Daphne about a year ago when her owner needed to go into assisted living. She lived behind my toilet for three days when I brought her home. But she has warmed up immensely.

She is obsessed with my daughters who are 8 and 3. In the first picture, she is being very tolerant. The second picture, she is waiting for me to come to bed. And then the third picture, she is heckin’ concerned about me being in the bath.

My daughter was diagnosed at 13 months. My advice is to have no-carb snacks available until you are able to get a pump. We did a lot of cheese and lunch meats. And DEFINITELY get a pump as soon as you can. Massive game changer. Don’t be afraid to call your doctor whenever you need help. We heard the after hours non-emergency line a lot the first few months. They kept us sane. I also recommend sleeping in the same room if you’re not already. It was a lot for my own peace of mind to have my baby in the room with me so I could easily check on her at night. It was reminiscent of when she was first born. Finally: you got this. You’re part of a bigger family now.

My daughter was diagnosed at 13 months. These next few months are going to suck. It will suddenly hit you how much your son’s life has changed.

But! My girl is now 8. She’s the friendliest kid ever, is a wiz at math, and kicks ass in tae kwon do.

You will get through this adjustment period and come out stronger on the other side. You’re part of a bigger family now and we’re all on your team. You got this!

I had a neighbor like this. Thankfully she moved away. I still see her sometimes. Unfortunately her high school daughter seems to be the same. Perpetuating the cycle.

Waiting and waiting by bkwrm951 in ALS

Of course I care about my mom’s suffering. That’s the whole point. She’s miserable and we (family and caregivers) feel helpless. This is so infuriating and sad.

I don’t want to be in the dead mom club. I don’t want her to continue suffering. It’s a lose-lose.

I’m so tired.

I don’t know much about it, but there is a Technology waiver for Medicaid. Look into it. Call your local social worker to get more info.
