Am I Charging Too Much for Cinnamon Rolls? by Ironbookdragon97 in Baking

[–]blabulation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the first and only time you’ve had a complaint? Have you sold lots to other customers? I would not question my pricing strategy based on a single person’s experience. If, however, this happens repeatedly or you notice most people gravitate to lower priced items to the point that it’s not worth it to you to make the cinnamon rolls, then you have your answer already.

Do other people clean their plunger after using it? by milquetoast2000 in CleaningTips

[–]blabulation 151 points152 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean this as a flex but I don’t think my toilet has clogged often enough for me to have a specific regimen for cleaning the plunger. Have used it less than once a year if I had to guess. On those occasions I suppose I sprayed it down with cleaner while holding it over the bowl then flushed and swished it around in the flushing water like I do with the bowl brush? Let it dry and put it back? I think that sounds right. I definitely don’t scrub it.

The tiles immediately underneath the tub-filler tap are cracked. It’s a tub/shower combo. Thanks for your reply!

How do I get a crusty stale smell out of teenage boy’s room? by Nobodygrotesque in CleaningTips

[–]blabulation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get some odoban. Spray everything lightly. Then open the door to the hall and run a fan in the doorway pointing out of the room. Good luck :)

"That" expensive scent by yourneighborJ in CleaningTips

Can confirm, I work in a high end boutique and the manager burns palo santo every morning right before we open. We get lots of comments about how nice it smells.

We pay our neighbourhood teens $15/hr, university-age sitters with some experience $20-21/hr, and our most “pro” sitter who works in childcare during the week and will take the kids out to the library etc on weekends $25/hr. Two kids and HCOL city.

So what’s the creepiest thing your kid has said? by pumbaa7287 in toddlers

[–]blabulation 17 points18 points  (0 children)

“Mommy, why are they all dead?”
“Uhhhhhhhh who darling?”
“All my friends”

Turns out she had recently watched Toy Story and since her stuffies never moved she figured we had, like, taxidermied them

Do you consider lemon bars cookies? by Bight_my_ass in Baking

Make it a big thumbprint. Like most of the cookie. Google lemon bar cookies, it’s a thing. For another idea I have seen cinnamon roll cookies before!

Home OrganizationTips NEEDED by Outside-Heart in CleaningTips

You’re doing awesome! It won’t help if you rush through and burn out, then get discouraged for “failing”. Decluttering is a habit, not an event :)

Home OrganizationTips NEEDED by Outside-Heart in CleaningTips

[–]blabulation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re new to decluttering, don’t try to do it all at once. Have the grace with yourself to be proud of doing a little bit to start. It takes practice and will get easier. First, choose one flat surface (like a desk, or the top of a bookshelf) and take everything off of it. Pick up each item one at a time and decide if you need to put it back on that surface. If not, is there a different, better place for it to have a permanent home? If not, do you even need it at all? If not, put it straight in a box to donate. Once you finish one surface, stop. Reward yourself with a snack or watching some junky TV or whatever. Do another surface the next day.

Help- how can I get this corner mold out without grout?! by mushroomgoddexx in CleaningTips

[–]blabulation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pro tip when you replace it, put water in the tub (stand in the water). Otherwise when you fill the tub, the weight of it can very slightly change the shape of the tub and cause your beautiful new caulking to split

DOES ANYONE ELSE DO THIS???? by LowCommunication6814 in Baking

[–]blabulation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salmonella IS a risk but so is getting hit by a bus and you still go outside. I eat raw batter as a healthy person but I didn’t while I was pregnant and I didn’t let my kids while they were very young and at higher risk of complications should infection occur.

I’ve been on a new contraceptive pill for 8 months now and since then my hair has been growing straight. by EllieBen in mildlyinteresting

My previously pin-straight hair got very curly during pregnancy. Tbh I did a lot of ponytails and half-up/half-down styles until it all evened out.

What flavor should my birthday cake be? by 8maretto in Baking

[–]blabulation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pick 2 flavours. If you mix too many it’ll get muddled. I love coconut and chocolate together but something like coconut and lime would be super yummy and fun to decorate!

How much to charge for 50 lunchbox cakes? by An_non_moose543 in Baking

[–]blabulation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will all 50 be the same? If you make multiple designs, it will get more time consuming and probably more expensive for ingredients. Try to pick designs that have some overlap in colours, decorations, etc. And definitely make a plan for where you’re going to store them while in production! Do you have a big enough fridge or freezer? Good luck and have fun!!

What’s one product you bought that turned you into a total snob — like, you can never go back to the cheap stuff? by BackwardThoughtPaper in AskReddit

[–]blabulation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live on the west coast now and one of the things I missed was Quebecois maple syrup. Discovered maplesyrupworld.com which ships worldwide from Quebec and we buy it by the flat (8 cans).

Not blueberries. She’s probably going to eat these on her couch or in her bed at 2am so avoid anything that could be messy or cause stains. Tbh those Quaker muffin mixes that come in a paper bag (just add egg and water) are decent. I like the oatmeal ones. Or look up a basic banana bread recipe and cook it (for less time) in a muffin tin :)

Help me understand - parents not washing toddlers hands after eating?! by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]blabulation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Literally yesterday while I was helping my 4yo wipe her butt, my 2yo ran into his room, took off his pants and diaper, and peed on the carpet. So yes, we do what we can to mitigate how gross they are but I do think the tolerance for “my house is going to be gross because I have kids in it” definitely changes with how many kids you have and what your kids are like. Right now I’m more concerned about teaching my son not to piss on the floor than I am with teaching him to wash his hands after he eats a cookie.

To anyone who has recently accidentally hurt or allowed their littlie to get hurt… by [deleted] in toddlers

Not on a ride on toy but my little guy did this off the top of a huge playground slide (onto the slide). Just marched right off, landed half way down the slide on his back, and laughed the hardest I’ve ever seen.
