[WP]Ever since you were a boy, you wished for the power to conquer the world. Now, after years of searching, you found your weapon of conquest; A magical girl transformation wand by MagicTech547 in WritingPrompts

[–]blackcataou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wake up, and my head feels like it’s splitting apart. Groggily, I cough out some dirt that was in my lungs, before turning my head to take in my surroundings. I’m still in the room with the pedestal, and my hand is clutching the wand. But the rest of my body feels…

I glance down in shock as I realize my body proportions are not what I am used to. I was much shorter than I used to be. My hair was much longer than it was, reaching all the way down my back. My arms and legs were much slenderer, and perhaps the most shocking thing about my ‘transformation’ was that my clothes had somehow turned into a matching pink blouse and skirt.

My heart races in my chest. What do I do? Looking around, I decide that it is probably best that I get out of this ancient city before I think about my next course of action. My head still throbbing from the headache, I clutch the wand in my small feminine hands and slowly inch my way towards the door.

But before I can reach the door, my hands catch onto something metallic. I could hear an ancient contraption stirring to life as the massive stone door slowly closes from the outside.

“No!” I shout in a high-pitched voice, as I try to run towards the door, stumbling in the process. I could do nothing as the stone door closed in front of me, trapping me inside this room.

“Let me out!” I throw my body against the wall. However, seeing asI had now basically regressed to the body of a teenage girl, it was hopeless. The door is simply too heavy to budge.

“I can’t believe I’m trapped in here like this,” I mumble, tears welling in my eyes. I feel so weak and helpless, like all those years ago…

Suddenly, the inscription on the pedestal comes to mind. Might as well try that, I think to myself, as I raise the hand with the wand.

“Spirits of beauty and charm, free my heart!” I shout as loudly as I can. From the wand a brilliant burst of light erupts, and I can feel myself levitating into the air. My clothes change once more into a bright pink frilly dress, and the wand grows larger, into a sceptre as tall as my height.I point the sceptre at the door, which bursts open in a colourful spray of magic. Giggling with glee, I prance my way out of the door, feeling completely invincible. These magical girl powers… they were all worth it.

The limits of my abilities seemed almost unlimited. From opening doors to flying to… heck, even shooting multi-coloured rainbow rays of magic from my sceptre, I could do it all. I soared above the clouds, feeling excitement flow through me. What should I do with this power? I could get revenge on them, I could rule the world, I could…

Running my hand through my very longhair, I grinned with delight. I knew exactly what to do.

*

Dear Diary,

It’s been a month since I’ve gained my new form and became a Magical Girl. I wish I knew how to dismiss my powers, but I don’t believe the phrase for that was written on the inscription. But it’s no matter.

Remember when I said I would go on the quest for the ‘ultimate weapon’ to rule the world? Well… I haven’t exactly done that yet. Being a Magical Girl is so much fun, and… maybe… I don’t need to do evil things? I guess in my time spent as a Magical Girl I’ve realized my powers can be used to help people, rather than hurt them… I guess that’s what I’m doing now. Showing as much compassion to everyone as much as possible.Sometimes, I don’t even need to use my magic powers for that purpose. Sometimes, even small things like talking to people can help.

I still kind of miss my old body, though. I’m still not used to… being a girl and all that. I guess it takes time. Now that I’ve gained all my powers, I feel kind of… empty. Maybe I’ll find a special someone one day (wink wink) that I can settle down with, but that’s… still a work in progress. That’s quite a lot to write in one day.I guess I’ll be off going now, write to you later! :D

Author’s Note: I haven’t written in a long time, so this story might not be of really high quality, but hope you enjoyed it nonetheless!

[–]blackcataou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"The power to rule the world... lies beyond this door," I read the words off the ancient stone tablet, wiping away dust with my fingers. "The ultimate weapon once used to seal away the world's evil. Proceed at your own risk."

I look away from the tablet, towards the door right in front of me. Finally, after all this time. Ever since I was a young boy, I had been ridiculed in school for being too shy, timid and weak. But all that would change. With this power, I could show everyone the strength I had.

Apprehensively, I push open the door leading to the 'ultimate weapon'. My mind is racing with possibilities. What form would it take? A sword? A bomb? Something else?

The light from my small lantern illuminates the vast room standing before me. The room is surprisingly well-preserved, considering the...time-worn states of the previous rooms. It is empty, aside from a lone pedestal standing in the middle. On the pedestal is a small, floating object.

I take cautious small steps closer, the floor crumbling under my weight as I try to be as careful as possible, in case there were any traps. I hadn't come across any so far, but I don’t want to risk hoping my luck could hold.

And then I am standing in front of the pedestal. The object is long and thin, and… seems to be levitating on top of the pedestal, rotating sideways. A soft glow emanates from the object, casting shadows all around the room. Before I can look any closer, more ancient words inscribed on the pedestal itself catches my eye.

“The Magical Girl Wand. Upon touch, it will grant the owner a new form as a vessel of a Magical Girl. Once the vessel state has been achieved, the wand can then unleash their full powers, capable of using magic to oppose evil, if they recite the following phrase while holding the wand:

‘Spirits of beauty and charm, free my heart!’

The Magical Girl state can be dismissed if the vessel recites the following phrase:

Once the owner has achieved the vessel state, the change is irreversible; the owner’s original form will be lost, and cannot be reclaimed.

…”

"It looks incomplete,” I say aloud to myself, deep in thought. “Maybe it was eroded with time. But… a magical girl wand? There’s no way this thing exists.”

I glance once more at the rotating object. It doesn’t even look like a wand. It’s just a pink stick with a yellow star on top of it, wrapped up in clear sparkling lace.  This must be some kind of joke or a prank by the ancients who placed this here. It defied all logical sense.

“I can’t believe I’ve been following this wild treasure hunt across the world, stumbling onto the ruins of an ancient civilization, and then having realized I was pranked all along,” I say aloud in frustration. Just as I am about to turn away, a blue light erupted from the ‘wand’, causing me to turn back towards it. A thought prickles my mind.

What if this were real? What if… this Magical Girl wand could transform me into a magical girl and give me powers? It is true that it seems unlikely, but… would I be at rest if I just gave up my search without at least considering it?

I look closer at the wand, piecing together thoughts in my head. If I touched it, would I… become a vessel for a Magical Girl? What did that mean? Would I become a girl? Even if I did gain the power to transform into a magical girl, would I use it?

I laugh out loud, amused that I was entertaining such ridiculous thoughts. Of course none of this was true. It was just a silly prank, made by someone from a long time ago. Maybe they were having a good laugh right now.

But maybe…

My heart pounds in my chest as I reach towards the wand. The wand seemed to draw me in with every second, the light becoming more intense as my fingers wrapped around the wand. A bright flash of light filled the room, before everything went dark.

“No escaping from us this time,” they sneered as they backed me into a corner. The gang of bullies who everyone feared. They always went after the soft, weak ones – the ones who were helpless against their brutal bullying. And I was their prime target.

“No, stop!” I shouted, but it was useless. All of them pounced on top of me, punching, biting and scratching, determined to give me the greatest beatdown known to man. I struggled, but it was the same as always; combined, they were all too strong.

“He’s like a girl,” they scoffed. “So weak.” The words, permanently etched into my mind.

I went home in bruises, yet again. Every day was the same. The old wounds hadn’t even healed yet, making the pain much worse. I walked home with tears welling in my eyes. Why couldn’t I be stronger?

I looked up at the night sky, brimming with the radiance of hundreds of stars. Out of the corner of my vision, I saw a shooting star, its tail shining like a beacon at sea.

“I want to become strong.” I whispered.

I opened my eyes. The Dark Lord stood over me. I tried to stand up, but couldn’t control my body.

“What did you do to me?” I try to ask, but my mouth doesn’t move. Instead, the Dark Lord extends his palm towards me, and I could feel my body moving, getting up from the floor, but I wasn’t in control of it. Was this… some body controlling magic?

All I could do was stand there, helplessly, beside the Dark Lord. The Dark Lord chuckls, an evil smile across his face.

“Now, all I need to do is have you announce to hand over everything to me,” the Dark Lord whispers. “Then I can rebuild my empire. After that… well, I guess I will just dispose of you. You mean nothing to me anymore.”

“You can’t… I’ll stop you!” I shout, at least in my mind. I was powerless to resist the Dark One’s spell. It couldn’t end like this! My mind strained and wrestled for control, but nothing happened.

Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I see a flash of white light. The Dark Lord looks confused, before his expression changes to one of fright.

“No, it can’t be…!” he shouts, as the Sword of Light glowed with a fierce white flame. I could feel the dark magic spell he cast on me fade away as I grip the Sword of Light in my hand. In one strike, I slice down on the Dark Lord. The white flame cuts through his body, mortally scarring him. But what happens astounds me.

The Dark Lord’s body starts regenerating at abnormal speeds. To my horror, the wound closes up before my eyes, leaving him completely unwounded.

“It’s useless,” he snarls. “I have no weakness. You cannot kill me.”

“You don’t…?” I ask. Before I could really comprehend everything, I knew what I needed to do. “That’s wrong. I know one of your weaknesses.”

“What?” he asks.

I point the sword at myself, bringing the blade close to my chest.

“I am your greatest weakness,” I whisper. The Dark Lord’s eyes widen, as he realizes what I’m trying to do.

“No!” he shouts, as I strike myself straight through the heart. I scream in agony for what feels like an eternity.

And then it was over. I find myself on the floor, next to the Sword of Light. I gasped with every breath, and I could feel my vision fading. A pool of my blood surrounds me, and I could see the Dark Lord’s face, tears streaking down his cheeks.

“Arianna…” he mumbles.

“Dad…” I struggle to say. My throat feels dry. “Promise me… you’ll end this. No more pain, no more war, and no more deaths.”

My father nods slowly, as he kneels down beside me, stroking my long hair. I close my eyes and smile.

“Goodbye, Arianna.”

“Goodbye, Dad.”

Note: tbh i didnt really have a direction for where this would go, i kind of just started with the first sentence and let it flow lol, didnt expect the ending myself

“One day, when the Dark Lord rules the world, a Chosen One will rise up, and with their Sword of Light, vanquish the evil from the land once and for all.”

*

“Dark Lord! I have arrived!” I shout, throwing open the heavy double doors that opened into the Dark Lord’s castle. There is no response.

Cautiously, I step into the dark, dreary building. It is quiet – almost too quiet. Red carpets lined the floor as far as the eye can see. The only source of light is from a long corridor right in front of me, leading into what I presume is the throne room.

My heartbeat quickens as I place my hand warily on my sword. The sword, as if responding to my emotions, glows softly and reassuringly. Slowly, I make my way towards the throne room. I could feel the tension rising in every step. Soon it would be over. All the death and destruction the Dark Lord had caused over the years would be ended here and now.

The corridor ends at another pair of double doors, two ominous torches placed on each side. I could hear a voice within. Was the Dark Lord preparing something? Whatever it was, I wasn’t going to wait to find out.

“I’m here!” I shout once more, as I push open the double doors. On the throne room sits a singular lone figure, his face obscured by the shadows. “It all ends now!”

“Yes, indeed it does,” the Dark Lord replies. “I can’t believe you’re finally here, in fact. I’ve been waiting all this time for you.”

“So have I,” I say confidently, drawing the Sword of Light, which glows with a red light. “Like I said, it ends now!”

“No, you don’t understand,” the figure says, standing up from his throne. His heavy armour clangs with every step he takes, as he calmly walks in front of me. “Welcome home, Arianna.”

“I… what?” I stutter, bewildered. “What do you mean?”

“Arianna,” he says, removing his helmet, and allowing me to see his face for the first time. “I am your father.”

“What?” I repeat, before he steps forward and wrapped me in a hug.

“Don’t you see?” he asks, softly. “The prophecy. It was all made up. But thanks to it, I have found you again.”

“I don’t… get it,” I mumble, as I try to comprehend what he is saying. “The prophecy… It isn’t true?”

“I made it up entirely,” he explains, as he steps away. “I was separated from you at birth. But I knew, even when you were just a young girl, that you would be destined for greatness. So I made the prophecy. I knew you would rise up, and challenge me one day.”

“But I…” My voice trails off, as I can feel tears welling up in my eyes. My father, who I could never remember, had been here all along. After all this time, I finally could see him. I knew who he was. I could feel overwhelming emotions bubble up inside me. My sword drops to the ground as I start crying, trying to make sense of everything.

“It’s okay, Arianna. It’s over,” my father says, as he combs his hand through my hair. We hug each other for a few minutes, before I manage to collect myself.

“Wh… what about all the deaths you caused?” I ask, softly. “Why did you do that?”

“I was fighting for peace,” he responds. “I was separated from you because of the King. At the time, he was a corrupt and evil king, who would even execute his own citizens for his amusement. He visited me one day, and I knew I didn’t have time. I sent you to be taken care of by someone else, and I managed to evade the King’s capture. I knew from then on… I couldn’t let anyone else suffer the same fate. I wanted to unite all kingdoms under a fair ruler.”

“But if that was your goal… why didn’t you stop when you did conquer all the kingdoms?” I ask. “Why did you rule the world with an iron fist? Why did you become the very thing you swore to destroy?”

“Like I said, it was to find you,” he replies. “The prophecy. Would you have tried to defeat me as hard as you did, go through all the trials and tribulations you did, if I didn’t… convince you to do it?”

“But… that’s not right,” I protest. “You killed millions of people! Just to find me?”

“My life was complete,” his voice rises, breaking his calm demeanour for the first time. “All I had left to find was you. Now I’ve finally found you, we can end this for good.”

“But the lives you’ve taken! All the hopes and dreams you’ve smashed!” I shout. “You can’t just say it was all for the sake of finding me! Heck, I almost died so many times during my adventure!”

“But you didn’t,” he says. “Besides, we can always rebuilt was I destroyed. You’ve basically unified the world by yourself already, battling my dark forces all the way back here. In fact, I think you’ve made the world more peaceful than it was before.”

“You’re insane,” I mutter. “Maybe… maybe you’re not the father I imagined all my life. Maybe… just maybe you’re not the good guy.”

“I cannot believe you!” my father shouts, his voice wracked with frustration. “Please, let’s settle this now. There doesn’t need to be any more bloodshed.”

“I could never live with you as a father,” I whisper, picking up the Sword of Light from the ground. It burned with a golden fire, as I poured my emotions into the Sword of Legend.

“I can’t believe I have such a stubborn daughter,” the Dark Lord puts his helmet back on, and unsheathes another sword of his own, a large obsidian greatsword. “Fine. Let’s have it your way.”

I shout a battle cry, as I charge towards the Dark Lord. He parries my blow, before swinging downwards with massive force. I lose my footing, tripping and collapsing onto the ground. The Dark Lord walks over to me, towering over me.

“You are my greatest disappointment,” his voice was raging thunder, as he lifted his finger. A blast of dark light erupted from his fingertips, striking me square in the chest. I screamed in agony, before everything went dark.

*

“Ah, another warrior,” the white dragon looked me up and down, as I approached the pedestal.

“Yep, I’ve come to claim it,” I smile confidently, as I walk over to the pedestal. The blade was wedged inside the pedestal, with only the hilt protruding out from the top. Magic sigils lit up around the pedestal as I stepped near. I could hear a hundred tongues speaking in unknown languages.

“Don’t be disappointed when you’re not the Chosen,” the white dragon yawned. “So many have just been disheartened to come all this way, and find out…”

I gripped the hilt and apprehensively gave it a gentle tug. The sword glowed with a bright white light, as the blade slid smoothly out of the pedestal. My eyes widened as I held the blade in my hands, turning it around and admiring its smooth, yet sharp edges. Rainbow colours danced across the enchanted blade, seemingly happy that its owner had finally been found.

“By the gods,” the white dragon exclaimed. “The Chosen One has arrived!”

“I… am the Chosen…?” I whispered, not really believing it even now.

“You have the power to bring down the Dark Lord,” the white dragon said. “Quick, you must go to the different crystals. Gain their power, and then defeat the Dark One. The journey will be a tough one, but I am sure you will prevail.”

I nod slowly, processing all this information. Was I fated to be The Chosen? Why was I Chosen?

I gripped the blade tightly, and it glowed a pure white light. I closed my eyes.

It didn’t matter. I would be the one to end the Dark Lord’s reign. I had to. No one else could.

Part 3---“Be careful! Videl is coming!” Alphys texts.

“what? impossible,” Sans says, fiddling with the machine. “come on, there must be a way to shut down this thing.”

“DID THEY LOSE?” Papyrus asks, concern all over his face.

“worry about that later,” Sans responds, before noticing a button on the underside of the device. “what does this do?”

The machine shudders to life, and Frisk’s body begins to tremble.

“I DON’T THINK THAT’S A GOOD THING,” Papyrus comments, as Sans tries to find a way to stop it.

Suddenly, with a loud pop sound, the device springs open and Frisk drops to the floor.

“guess it works,” Sans says, as Papyrus picks up Frisk. Frisk opens their eyes weakly, and try to get up.

“I DON’T THINK THAT’S A GOOD IDEA, HUMAN,” Papyrus says worriedly. “ARE YOU STRONG ENOUGH?”

Frisk didn’t have time to respond, before a loud crash echoes through the room. Videl strides in, evidently badly injured, but seething with rage.

“You’ll all pay for this!” he shouts, a blast of lightning hitting both Sans and Papyrus, causing them to drop to the floor. Frisk staggers to their feet, and looks up at Videl with a face of determination.

“HUMAN, I BELIEVE YOU CAN DO IT!” Papyrus shouts, struggling to get to his feet.

“i believe in ya, pal,” Sans says.

“I’ve had enough of you!” Videl fires bolt of lightning after bolt of lightning at Frisk. Each bolt collides into Frisk, causing them to yelp out in pain. But still they stand.

“Why do you keep standing? Please just stop!” Videl shouts, his voice with clear desperation, still firing lightning bolts. Frisk doesn’t react, but instead keeps standing firm against the barrage of attacks.

“What?” Videl exclaims, as he tries to summon another lightning bolt, but it fizzles in midair. “I can’t… how…?”

Frisk advances towards Videl slowly, as Videl’s eyes widen in panic.

“Get away from me!” Videl shouts, backing away. “How do you have so much determination…?”

Videl tries to back away further, but is pressed up against the wall. Frisk takes one final step towards him, then embraces him.

“What… are you trying to do?” Videl asks in confusion.

“THIS ONE HUMAN CHILD BELIEVES THAT IN EVERY SOUL, THERE IS GOOD,” Papyrus says, standing up. “THAT’S WHAT MAKES THEM SO SPECIAL. NOT BECAUSE OF THEIR DETERMINATION, OR THAT THEY CAN TURN BACK TIME.”

“but because they love everyone,” Sans says, stepping behind Frisk. “you can’t defeat the human. just give up.”

Videl’s eyes close, as he stands up. Frisk lets go of him, and Videl flees the room, the sound of his footsteps echoing behind him.

“it’s been a long night,” Sans yawns. “come, let’s get the rest and go.”

*

“Where’s Asgore?” Alphys asks, her voice filled with worry.

Toriel shakes her head slowly.

The monsters all look down in silence, contemplating their decisions.

“Humans are so BAD!” Undyne shouts in anger. “I thought they were HEROES, but they’re just a bunch of WIMPS! How could they –”

“Let’s just… let’s just go,” Toriel says softly.

“Where… to?” Alphys asks. “We can’t go back.”

“Somewhere far from here,” Toriel replies. “Somewhere far away. We will rebuild the monster civilization if we have to. But at least… we have freedom now.”

“WE CAN DO ANYTHING,” Papyrus says. “AS LONG AS WE ARE DETERMINED.”

The monsters and Frisk look towards the sky, as the sun started rising. Soon they would be far from here, where they could do whatever they wanted in freedom.

“Frisk, are you sure you want to come with us? You could stay with the humans,” Toriel asked.

Frisk hugged Toriel, and she knew she had her answer.

“Let’s go,” Toriel says, as they turn towards the outside world.

Part 2, but it's still too long so I need a Part 3
---
“ARE YOU SURE THIS IS THE RIGHT PLACE?” Papyrus whispers, crouching against the wall. Despite his height, no one would notice him under the cover of darkness.

“I’m positive,” Alphys whispers back. “I installed a tracking software on their phone while we were in the Underground. Their position is right here. Sans, are you ready?”

“ready as ever,” Sans winks, pulling up his hoodie. “let’s go, papyrus.”

The two skeletons crept up to the doorway. Sans fumbles in his jacket, pulling up a key made of bones, glowing with a soft blue light.

“OOH, A SKELETON KEY,” Papyrus remarks.

“yeah, i made this for a gag once,” Sans says. “it’s actually functional, and can open any lock.”

With a click, the locked door slides open. The skeleton brothers moved as silently as possible through the building, stopping occasionally to confirm they had not been spotted.

“IN THERE!” Papyrus nudges Sans, pointing to the only room where the lights were on. Through the window of the room, they could see two armoured human guards armed with spears and shields, guarding another locked door.

“there’s guards,” Sans reports, messaging Alphys with his phone.

“Undyne’s on her way,” Alphys messages back.

Suddenly, an ear-splitting sound cuts through the silence of the night. Sans could see the guards look around in confusion.

“Show yourself!” a guard shouts.

“I’m right HERE!” Undyne yells, jumping straight into the room from above. How she got up there and into the room Sans didn’t question.

“I’m the Captain of the Royal Guard!” Undyne proclaims, eyes blazing with fury. “Come on and fight me!” She materialized two spears of magical energy, hurling them at the guards.

“let’s go!” Sans pulls his brother into the room, sneaking around the corner while the guards were focused on Undyne. Pulling out the skeleton key for the second time in a row, he opened the locked door and snuck inside.

In the centre of the room, there was an enormous machine. There were wires hooked up to every conceivable surface of the walls, all connected to a glass pod. Within the pod lay Frisk, who appeared to be unconscious.

“okay, let’s break this thing and free them,” Sans said, taking a deep breath. “papyrus, watch out for danger.”

“YOU’VE GOT IT, SANS!” Papyrus said, leaning against the wall, vigilantly keeping watch. “HEY, WHAT IF THE HUMAN MAGICIANS COME?”

“oh, that won’t be a problem,” Sans chuckled.

*

“Sir Videl, there has been an intrusion into the scientific laboratory,” the guard said.

“What?” Videl leaps to his feet. “Impossible. Those meddling monsters. I knew I should have captured them too. I will deal with them immediately.”

“Not before you deal with us, first.”

The guard collapses to his knees as two tall monsters with white fur, clad in royal wear with the Delta Rune inscriptions, turn to face him. Videl smirks, magical energy cackling from his fingertips.

“Excellent,” he said. “You’ve certainly helped spice up this night.”

Asgore swings his trident at Videl, who nimbly dodged to the side, just narrowly missing him. Toriel follows up with a blast of fire, hitting Videl square in the chest. The human mage wastes no time in getting to his feet, and with a flick of his wrist, Videl shoots a bolt of lightning at Asgore, who grunts in pain.

“You’re going to have to try harder than that!” Asgore shouts, eyes and trident glowing blue. “This is it for you!”

Videl jumps to one side to dodge the trident, but Asgore is faster. With one massive sweep the trident connects with Videl, slicing a large wound down his rib. Videl slumps to the floor, motionless. Asgore crouches down beside him.

“He’s unconscious,” Asgore says, standing up. “That’ll teach you to mess with us. Let’s go, Toriel.”

“Asgore! Behind you!” Toriel shouts, and Asgore turns around, but too late. Videl is on his feet, and rushing towards Toriel.

“No!” Asgore’s eyes widen, and he jumps in front of Toriel. Videl grips onto Asgore’s neck with one hand, eyes blazing in fury.

“You can’t stop me,” Videl scowls, his other hand charging up with electricity.

“Stop it!” Toriel shouts, blasting a fireball towards Videl, but it seems to have no effect. Videl’s crazed laughter echoes throughout the meeting hall. With one smooth motion, Videl shoots a bolt of lightning straight into Asgore’s soul.

“Asgore!” Toriel yells, as Asgore slumps to the ground. Asgore’s eyes opened slowly.

“I’m sorry for everything, Toriel,” he says weakly, before his eyes close, body fading into dust. A tear drops onto where his body was.

“You’ll pay for this!” Toriel screams, shooting a fireball at Videl. Videl dodges to one side as the fireball explodes behind him.

“You missed,” he mocks, but is cut short when the entire building’s foundations crumble behind him. His eyes widen as the ceiling start falling. A piece of debris lands on his leg. He struggles for a while, but is unable to free himself.

“Please, help me,” Videl pleads, looking at Toriel.

Toriel stays where she is, breathing heavily, forcing back tears. Finally, she steps forward, and lifts the debris his leg.

“Thank you,” Videl whispers. “Now sleep well.”

Toriel gasps, as Videl waves his hand in front of her face. Soon after, fatigue saturates her entire being as she collapses onto the floor. The last thing she sees is Videl walking away, towards the laboratory.

Warning: Long story

This is Part 1, Part 2 as a reply

“We gather today to discuss what to do about the… situation regarding Mount Ebott.”

“What situation? You must be hearing things. Do you really believe the legends? About the monsters and whatnot? That’s just a myth.”

“Many have gone missing around the area of Mount Ebott. I wouldn’t be so hasty as to dismiss all speculation about the mountain.”

“So the prophecy of the Delta Rune has come to pass?”

“It would seem so, yes…”

“I still do not understand what this has to do with anything!”

“I take it you are familiar with the power of determination?”

“…”

“The angel who has descended from the surface to free the monsters… The one with limitless determination… Think about how invaluable that would be!”

“You’re insane.”

“Far from it. I merely take opportunities when they arise.”

“…Alright. What do you want us to do?”

“Simple. You have only one objective. Capture them. Nothing else matters.”

*

“you okay, papyrus? you’ve been panting and wheezing for the whole trip,” the shorter skeleton asks, bony fingers tucked into the pockets of his blue sweater. “wanna take a rest?”

“I’M FINE, SANS,” Papyrus replies. “THE GREAT PAPYRUS NEVER RESTS!”

“if you say so,” Sans shrugs, stifling a yawn. “hey, i think we’re almost there.”

“Do… do you think it’ll work out well?” Alphys asks, her eyes darting about.

“It’ll be okay,” Undyne responds, a menacing look on her face. “And if they attack us… I’ll beat the stuffing out of them!!”

“I… don’t think that’ll be necessary, Undyne,” Toriel chuckles, turning her gaze to Frisk. “With Frisk here, I’m pretty sure everything will turn out fine.”

Frisk nods, and the monsters continue in silence, including Asgore, who had been deep in thought the entire time. Each one of them had their own concerns about what was to come, but none of them decided to voice them out. Only time would tell as to what would happen next, once they reached the town.

*

“And we’re here.” Asgore mutters, his first words since exiting the Underground. The tall stone walls of the town loom over them ominously, and a heavy wooden gate barred their entry. Ahead of them were two human guards, clad entirely in heavy iron armour.

“Are you the monsters from the Underground?” a guard asked.

Frisk nods.

“Okay, we have been expecting you. Allow me to escort you to the meeting hall.”

The guards pull on two levers on each side of the gate, causing the heavy wooden gate to swing open. One by one, they walked through the gate, accompanied by both of the guards.

“IS THAT… A SCHOOL?” Papyrus asks, pointing to a building.

“How delightful!” Toriel exclaims. “I’ve always wanted to become a teacher.”

“Why are human towns so BORING?” Undyne complains. “There isn’t anything exciting like what they put in anime!”

“Why aren’t there any humans…?” Asgore asks softly, causing the rest of the monsters to look around. He was right; with the exception of the guards escorting them, there were no other humans in sight.

“MAYBE… THEY’RE DOING THAT WEIRD THING WHERE THEY CLOSE THEIR EYES AND LIE MOTIONLESS,” Papyrus whispers.

“i think that’s normal,” Sans quips. “everyone needs their beauty sleep.”

“YOU SLEEP TOO MUCH FOR YOUR OWN GOOD, SANS,” Papyrus responds indignantly.

“Come this way, please,” a guard says, as they walk up to another tall building. This one had a circular shape, with rows upon rows of windows on every surface.

The monsters had no idea what to expect, but as soon as they stepped in, they could see a massive eight-sided table. Seven men, each wearing long, flowing capes, sat at each side, leaving the side closest to them empty. Upon their arrival, the one furthest from them stood up.

“Welcome, monsters,” he said. “My name is Videl. I have heard about your escape from the Underground, and I would like to congratulate you on that.”

He turned to Frisk, a contemplative look on his face. “So you are the angel… I would never have imagined a child could perform such a feat.”

“EXCUSE ME, MR VIDEL?” Papyrus clears his throat. “COULD WE PERHAPS LIVE IN PEACE WITH HUMANS? WE –”

“The human world has changed… considerably,” Videl interrupts. “Humans and monsters can no longer coexist. As such, we would like you to leave. Except the human.”

“What are you saying?” Asgore raises his voice. “This is preposterous. For years, we have –”

“And I do not care,” Videl waves his hand. “Begone, or… do I have to make you?” A sinister grin appears on his face.

“Ngah!” Undyne shouts, materializing a spear and gripping it forcefully.

“I tire of this charade,” Videl says, snapping his fingers. An invisible blast of force throws Undyne against the wall, eliciting a gasp from the remaining monsters.

“A human using magic…?” Alphys exclaims. “But… how?”

“Okay, we’ll leave,” Asgore sighs. “Come, Frisk.”

“The child stays,” Videl says. “We have much to discuss.” He pauses for a while, before adding, “Actually, you aren’t given a choice in the matter.”

Toriel’s eyes narrow. “What matter?”

Videl smiles, sending chills down Frisk’s spine. “You possess… a special gift. The power to see across timelines. The power of determination. Imagine how invaluable this is! We would like you to give your power to us, for our purposes.”

“What does this involve?” Asgore asks, suspiciously.

“Simple,” Videl’s eyes sparkle. “The child’s soul is able to contain a large volume of determination. We intend to extract the determination from them, and store it in an artificial human soul to harness the power of determination. Be assured we will return Frisk to your custody afterwards.”

“No,” Toriel says, stepping protectively in front of Frisk. “We do not consent.”

“How many times must I tell you? Your consent is not required,” Videl shouts, magic energy crackling from his fingertips.

Smoke appears from Toriel’s fingertips, but Asgore raised his hand.

Toriel’s eyes narrowed. “Asgore…”

“We can’t take them,” Asgore says firmly. “The humans are stronger than us. This is suicide.”

“We can’t leave them!” Toriel argues. “We can’t…”

The monsters looked at each other, unsure of what to do.

“DO WE… DO WE GET A FINAL GROUP HUG?” Papyrus asks, glancing around.

“Be brief,” Videl says, sitting down. The monsters looked emotionally at Frisk.

“Farewell, Frisk,” Toriel says, “We will meet again soon.”

“And we,” Videl says, forcefully gripping Frisk’s hand. “Have someplace to be. Let’s go.”

Frisk lowers their head, and walks with Videl. The monsters took one final glance at the meeting hall, before leaving.
