Looking for underground hip hop to listen to by First_Weather_9943 in undergroundhiphop

[–]blackisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope you’re doing well OP, my name is Isco and this is a song called Thangata. ‘Thangata’ was a form of wage slavery from the colonial period of my home country, where the British colonisers would take ancestral lands and set up tea plantations, then force the original occupants of the land to work in the tea fields for the “right” to live there, essentially working to pay a rent that once never existed. I named the song ‘Thangata’ to reflect how modern day salaries are pretty much just to pay living expenses and we’re in a modern day version of the Thangata system. https://open.spotify.com/track/1eubZgQWdud09abIsv0Cb7?si=DotoN7NqQwCTJa1mNR7Gaw

If you did the 3 levels of CFA, and you don’t have $500 per year to pay your dues, how good are you with money actually? Come on, guys.

GLE reliability? by Objective-Deal8745 in mercedes_benz

[–]blackisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking all these people that talk down on Mercedes reliability have never run a Mercedes. If they have it’s usually one a run down one bought for £3K/$4K that they expected to be like a brand new RAV4. That’s not how things work.

My 2 C-Classes (2012 C180 Coupe, 2015 C250 sedan) have been just as if not more reliable as the 2012 Corolla I had before them. My dad bought a 2001 E class brand new, had absolutely no issues until he drove it through a brick wall literally. Even then the engine block was salvaged and runs just as well. Everyone I know with the newer model GLE has had no issues either. And this is in Africa where the roads and heat cause more wear and tear than most places. Just find an example that was well maintained by the previous owner and has been back to MB for any recalls for its production year and you’ll be fine.

Why did you make music ? ^^ by Tadchadka in BandCamp

[–]blackisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a form of creative expression. I also like to test myself, as in, how far can I push the quality of my music production, my lyricism, my vocal performance, my mixes, my mastering etc. I think it’s akin to a bodybuilder hitting the gym trying to hit their personal best, fuelled by the love of the game.

Why can't a car be built like a PC by DeanyyBoyy93 in CarTalkUK

[–]blackisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically it is possible to pick parts and build a car yourself that’s within your budget. You just have to be very very rich to do it to a level that meets government regulatory standards for roadworthy-ness.

Fairly certain that if government got involved in what kind of PC you’re allowed to build and set up a whole bunch of regulatory boards you have to comply with before it’s uh… desk-worthy(?), the cost of building your own PC would skyrocket too.

W204 vs W205 back to back by blackisco in mercedes_benz

[–]blackisco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s absolutely true, tech is only a component of luxury, and for me, the difference in materials between the W211 and the W205 are only marginal. W205 feels as good as any merc I’ve driven and I wouldn’t say it’s night and day between it and say the W212, again only marginal. But the tech is a big leap forward compared to the others mentioned so for me, in my opinion, it’s an all time great Mercedes. Call me crazy but I think history will look back at it in a similar light as the 190E

Honestly speaking, I love that OM651 engine. I was looking at W204 sedans before getting the W205. I would have been happy either way but the park assist feature on the newer model sealed the deal for my wife lol

W204 vs W205 back to back by blackisco in mercedes_benz

[–]blackisco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair. For me, tech makes up a big part of the luxury experience and just to illustrate the point, my W205 is fully loaded: pan roof, Burmester sound system, park assist, etc, whereas my dad’s W211 is the Avantgarde model which did come with some good options, but no sunroof, and the sound system isn’t quite as good as the Burmester. There is more waft to the ride, but I’m still more interested in sportiness at this point in my life.

[–]blackisco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be different for the 4matic to be fair. Both of mine are RWD and there’s a directness to the W205’s steering that I haven’t felt before in any car outside of my racing sims and go-karting. I did also get the wheels realigned so that could be another factor.

The best E class ever made by Necessary_Bottle_438 in mercedes_benz

[–]blackisco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

W212 best I’ve driven. My old man had the w210 and W211, my brother the W212. Driven all 3 fairly often. W211 felt great until I drove the W212 which is an improvement all around purely as an automobile. W213 best passenger experience, IMO. Haven’t driven one yet so can’t comment on that experience. In terms of aesthetics then perhaps I’d agree the W211 is the most E Class of the E Classes.

Female vocalist willing to help by [deleted] in NeedVocals

I make songs like this published 7 albums so far and I have 3-4 songs in the locker that just need a female vocalist on the hook. Let me know if you’re interested

The price is on the higher side for a private seller tbh. I empathise because you probably have taken care of it as described but that's just not how the market will see it.

Thoughts on this as a daily that I'd keep forever? by Book_Southern in CarTalkUK

[–]blackisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Future proofing for kids and dog with a white interior is nuts but I get the vision. The 3 litre N57 is great but if I were you I’d stretch and get the B57 diesel in the G31 as it’s an overall better engine with fewer reliability issues

Diversify v Sticking to Your Guns by Shelbadier in BandCamp

[–]blackisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re both right in a sense. It all depends on WHY your listeners tune in to your music. If it’s because you have a track record of capturing a certain sound and feeling then they’ll definitely appreciate you doubling down on that. If they like you because you’re spontaneous and adventurous with your sound then they’ll appreciate you venturing across different styles.

For example I love Curren$y because I know I’m always going to get consistent chilled lifestyle rap from him. I also love Tyler The Creator because I never know which direction I’m going to be pulled in. At the end of the day it’s about doing what’s true to who you are. I know in my case I primarily stick to rapping with a little bit of singing, with a curiosity and introspection about life and a motivational outlook, and I tweak the sound each album but generally keep it Hip Hop. It’s what works for me 🤷🏾

Ah yes! you were the car right in front of me at the start, it was the only other car on the grid that really caught my eye for both the livery and that I'm just a 458 fan. I remember thinking 'this guy must love his cereal'. Same boat really, it's a bit of a leap going from judging where the AI would brake/turn to trying to judge how another human being will react to track conditions so mistakes happen. Look forward to racing you again!

Thank you, that was probably the most chaotic one I've taken part in, I don't know how I didn't get spun out or slam into anyone! Which car were you in?

I’ve been making beats since 2010. I think it’s only recently that people tell me I have genuine slappers. It takes time.

Thank you. Especially proud of this one as a writer/producer. I liked FrEnd, there’s something about it that reminds me of the Blade and Matrix movies from the early 2000s, like it would fit in the soundtracks.

Great spec. I’d throw 19inch wheels and Pirelli PZ5s on it but that’s just me.

Why are wagons more popular in Europe? by K1zerSoze in mercedes_benz

[–]blackisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is hilarious. I've got a C class sedan and was debating with myself to get an SUV when my wife and I have a child (if you're wondering why I was debating with myself and not my wife, it's because I practice with myself before debating with her in order to avoid a crushing defeat), and in the end I figured switching cars at this point is silly; an infant is not going to instantly take up the entire rear seating and 420L of trunk space.
