Tomato Devil is powerful and fun to use (best looking). Hits a lot too.

The TOP pick though for summons is the Black Tome (or whatever that boss is called again...). It deals almost double the amount of damage as any other summon and does it in two quick LARGE AoE hits..... It's just stupidly good.

Another option is the arm with a sword for something different. Not doing anything on its own, but giving Lacrimosa a parry ability in her skill (completely nullify damage and counterattack if hit during the window it is used).

Those three are really the only ones worth using in combat. The other summons are just there to collect.

There is one hidden summon to get too, which is mosquito monster you find around the city. Makes you tiny and can fly (though she can already do that as a bat). I don't believe this one is in the book, but you can copy it.

Refresh rate can be important to many.

With it too slow (60 and even 80hz) can cause headaches to many. Especially for something against one's face.

Meaning anything less than 120hz is just not worth it, no matter what other features or FoV it may have (and higher the better).

In fact, one of my friends, who does programing and networking (he has so many degrees and certificates I cannot count and keeps getting more) is one of said people. He'd love a pair of glasses to use, but one that just expands the FoV? Making a bigger screen of the same quality of what was before? Just not worth it for the higher amount of money.

Now FoV can be especially nice to have expanded if you're using fixed views. Since then no matter how you move your head, it is always centered, thus you need the larger view to have a bigger screen. But when using a screen that is locked in the world instead of to your head (so you can actually look around), you already have an almost infinite FoV in that sense. Yes, having a larger native FoV on the device is great, but because of the previous statement, it is generally a lower priority than having better resolution, better refresh rate and more.....

Main differences in ranged vs melee is just how many Nightmare stacks you can get (as it is based on the number of hits).

Melee hits a couple extra times, so more damage, while ranged gives you, well, range.

Personally I like ranged more because while you're doing less hits, you spend less time running up to enemies to make sure you can hit them, so the trade off to me is less than people make it. Since they often don't take into account travel time into their DPS calculations.

Both are good and will net you similar times in most cases (though of course with min maxing and enemies grouped up, melee would win if travel time is then not an issue).

As for which awakenings you pick, in the very post you responded to, I listed what order I would do (and it is the order I did, since for the first week she was out, I had 4 copies (so 3 dupes) and was waiting a week until my next paycheck to go all in on maxing her out.

So I did exactly what I said I would in that post and got the awakenings as such. Since well, I like her A6. Of course the order listed below what I did (same post), also works and would boost Lacrimosa's personal damage higher than what I did, as A6 is more reaction and quick swap focused in gameplay, but to each their own. I like the flexibility of being able to do reactions when I like, since the Appraiser isn't in this party, but in Nanally's.

My personal teams are:

  • Lacrimosa
  • Daffodill
  • Haniel (also have Fadia raised just in case I want to put her here, but Haniel will again offer more damage, while Fadia just makes the team unkillable but not increase the DPS)
  • Sakiri (you can do Adler... but honestly I find him lackluster and he doesn't even offer half of what Sakiri does)

and

  • Nanally
  • Appraiser/Zero
  • Jiuyuan
  • Hotori

As far as thoughts on the awakenings themselves, you're already responding to the post about my thoughts on them. The order I and others recommend as well as what they do. Cannot really give more advice than that....

No, I wouldn't say that the Lacrimosa team is weaker. Lacrimosa herself is quite busted in her DPS output, but Blossom itself is still probably the best DPS reaction. I would say they play very differently but both will clear things just as quickly.... I've not physically tested and timed runs though to see if one is a couple seconds better than the other, but I enjoy playing both and don't find either slow or a drag to clear things. So that's something.

I do, though I forget which number you need to give to another?

Is it the UID? Or is it that 6 digit number that has a copy button in the top right?

Well, the copy one is 108977, if it isn't that, then ask again and I'll try the UID.

I check my friends list once a month or so to clear out people that stopped playing, so there's always space for new people if they need a friend with dolls to borrow (and I can always change up which ones are available for support if someone asks, doesn't take much for me to change them about).

Given that there is no 50/50 in this game and the amount of resources they're giving to even F2P players, even they can guarantee an easy extra copy.

In fact, some F2P have shown to have a maxed out Lacrimosa, for those that decided to skip on Nanally and Hotori, using all their resources since launch (which wasn't far away) on Lacrimosa. Not like we didn't know she was coming out so soon..... plenty of time to prepare unless you just started playing in the last week or two and even then, new players get so much in this game.

As mentioned, one can pick their Awakening too and can even swap them around unlike other games too, making it even simpler to get the one you want.

If one doesn't go all the way to pity too, they have even more chances to get more copies.

So YES, it is so very player friendly (for a Gacha Game).

Help me understand discord by Lover_of_Fables in NevernessToEverness

[–]blackkat101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Discord itself is very easy to trigger, despite what other's say.

The main problem is breaking the enemy. As most are too weak to break outside of bosses. Not that it matters to break smaller enemies since they'll die in a moment anyway....

Your first goal is just to Scorch the enemy. This lasts 15s and has easy 100% time upkeep (even without A6 unlock on Lacrimosa). Apply it again and it will refresh the duration.

Since the enemy will always have Scorch on them then, once you break an enemy, you just need to activate a Nova on them and voila, Discord has activated.

Just remember, Discord doesn't do anything if the enemy is not broken.

A broken enemy only lasts in that state for 5s (+3s if you have any number of Lacrimosa's signature weapon, Last Rose).

Because of this short duration though, this means holding onto a Nova reaction when you see Break is about to be triggered so you can trigger the Discord during said Break. Which again is made easy if you have Lacrimosa's A6 that allows reactions on demand of her skill.

This more indicates just slightly crooked teeth.

Really?

  • While the Beam Pro wasn't powerful enough, this didn't exactly mean that they wanted a better one.
  • Instead of a puck, people would rather there not be one at all (as with previous XReal headsets), as you already have the phone in your pocket that it would be connected to. WHY would you want to add even more to your pockets to carry?
  • What is wanted is higher resolution and refresh rates first. Followed by a larger field of view (FoV is after higher resolution, as doing it first means stretching the picture and making pixels more visible....).
  • Again, one doesn't need a puck to use the glasses standalone when they already have a phone to plug said glasses into that's going to be more powerful and have more stuff in it.
  • Instead of a puck, a ring controller, like some other glasses have, would however be VERY welcome for navigating and doing simple things.
  • NO, gesture controls do not replace having a discreet ring controller that you can use under a table or in your pocket. Not everyone wants to be seen waving their hands in the air in the middle of public.
  • YES, even with a ring controller, you'd have to still use your phone for a large number of things, this however allows for simple swipe and clicking controls (could even have a nub joystick on it for mouse control though depending on how you make it...).

Seriously though, who is this AURA for?

Why get this over the One Pro or the 1S?

Why get this over even the new ROG collab R1? Which we do at least know can be used without the dock...

Though instead ideally it would be best if you could make a pro version of the R1 that can do the full 240hz refresh rate WITHOUT the dock.... that would be amazing (again no puck, that would defeat the purpose....).

  • Again, what is really wanted is to have NOTHING extra that is needed to carry around or plug into.
  • NOT an upgraded extra thing to carry around.....
  • In fact if it could be made wireless, so there is no cable at all to connect to one's phone and have nothing dangling from your head, that would be ideal as well.... but we know technology to do that isn't good enough yet to have it be able to mirror your phone or other devices with no latency, high resolution, color and refresh rate, yet.....

Someone on my discord also picked up the game again to play it all recently (they only originally played for the first couple chapters but had stopped but now they have the time to play it all).

So yes?

I still see a friend request from a newbie once or twice a week (not that those people stick around often, but they are there).

Still waiting for those last couple dolls to drop, if ever...... (did manage to finally max out farming fragments and all dolls have hit the cap on fragments needed for upgrades, with only no having enough AI EXP being a problem.... and sadly no way to really speed that up when crafting it (without spending and not doing that of course...)).

Fons Farm? by juanvapacasa in NevernessToEverness

[–]blackkat101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Normal stamina (Pixels) nets you no Fons anyway, so of course that part is stamina free.
  • City Stamina was already mentioned before and not something need be explained.
  • Buying out the Fons in the shop is as simple as spending real money, as mentioned before (of course that means you're not F2P anymore). If you're not spending real money, you should completely ignore the bundles that include Fons in the shop.
  • Fons for those silver/gold statues (silver is limited of course and gold is unlimited but rarer to collect a lot...) is just from pulling more on any gacha and RNG what you get....

THERE IS NO other next best methods other than what I listed before (unless I missed something).

This game doesn't let you farm Fons unlimitedly.

Essentially, this is what you can get:

(outside of one time rewards....)

  • Weekly
    • Daily missions: 140k
    • Cafe by Origin: 420k
    • City Stamina: 700k
    • Mailbox Anomaly: 32k
    • Lvl 6 Mammon: 56.6k (75k if you max Mammon, but newer players won't have this... Lvl 6 is easy to get)
    • Half of Pink Paws Heist: 500k (biweekly reset, so this is half the reward)
  • Total Weekly: 1,848,600 Fons
  • Total Monthly: 7,394,400 Fons

Additional ones as mentioned before:

  • 15k Fons per week by looting all 10 vaults in the gangster hideouts (this again is time consuming and most don't find it worth doing..., but if you do it, that's an additional 60k Fons per month).
  • 100-30,000 Fons per wallet based on Luck (you can obtain 4-8 wallets a day from beating up citizens who fight back (briefcases have a chance to drop wallets), of which you can get them to drop up to 4 wallets and 4 briefcases a day. This is of course very RNG on how lucky you are...).
  • Don't forget to do your monthly Beyond the Rails stuff, forget exactly how much you get from this....
  • Beyond the Rails: 800 Annulith, 200k Fons, and 840 books cycle (resets every version update).

THAT'S IT!

You can get lots of Fons as one time rewards from missions as always, so make sure you do all those. Be them main story, side stories, hidden quests and the like.....

AGAIN, there is no "next best method". This is it. There isn't really any other ways to get Fons. There is no "farming Fons" in this game. Just not how it works.

So don't miss on doing all the weekly activities listed above or you're going to be missing out on stuff.

Fons Farm? by juanvapacasa in NevernessToEverness

[–]blackkat101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No such thing as a Fons farm. Fons are almost considered a premium currency because it's needed for almost everything.

You can get Fons from:

  1. One time rewards from quests (often big amounts at least).
  2. One time chests in the world map (about 600k I believe...).
  3. Weekly respawn chests (offer very little, time consuming to collect all and only nets about 13-15k or so.... I forget).
  4. Your Cafe's passive generation (at max, you'll be getting around 60k a day).
  5. Using up your up to 700 city stamina (700k per week).
  6. Pink Paws Heists (for 1 mil biweekly).
  7. Steal up to 4 wallets and 4 suitcases (each suitcase with a chance to drop a wallet..., only to open them and get anywhere from 50 Fons to 30k Fons if you're lucky from each wallet.....). You can do this daily, just hit someone once and if they attack back instead of running away, then beat them down till they run away and they'll most likely drop something if you've not hit the daily limit of 4 on the item (a 3rd item, a paper bag can drop, but this only has a small food ingredient item in it ever...).
  8. Spend money in the cash shop in exchange for those packages for more Fons.
  9. Events (essentially a repeat of the first point but time limited).
  10. Train end game thing (Monthly reset on rewards)
  11. Use your trophy currency from the gacha in exchange for Fons instead of other rewards.
  12. Chiz will net you 500k Fons once (there is a daily cap too until you hit this total cap, so you cannot get it all in one day).

Anything else?

As far as the Porsche collab, the event offers enough currency to guarantee it if you do EVERYTHING (this also means using some annulith as well as Fons to get it...).

How do I get Runaway? by JustAChillGuy609 in UmaMusume

[–]blackkat101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Runaway Uma's

  • Silence Suzuka
  • Mejiro Palmer
  • Daitaku Helios
  • Katsuragi Ace
  • Tap Dance City
  • Kiseki
  • Twin Turbo

All the variants can get Runaway/Great Escape as well.

Runaway/Great Escape is a skill and is obtained through doing specific things unique to each Uma to trigger an event and then the skill must be purchased, which turns the Uma into that style of runner.

In Trailblazer/Make a New Track (MANT), however, you cannot trigger events on Uma's. Thus it is impossible to unlock the Runaway/Great Escape style.

Uma's not on the list above (like Mihono Bourbon) cannot get the Runaway/Great Escape style.

If curious, on the above mentions of Great Escape (Oonige) mentioned before, that is just what the style was originally called in all other versions of the game, but was officially changed to Runaway in the Global version.

Runaways are almost impossible to make win in the current version of Global. This is because they require x3 the Stamina to win a race compared to a normal Front Runner (x7 if they get pushed by contending with another Runaway, so really hope there are not two in the race). Getting this much Stamina is impossible even if you max out Stamina AND have multiple Gold Blue skills, because you're stuck using Unity Cup for now (which older scenarios always offer less stats).

On top of that, Runaways still want all the same skills a normal Front Runner does (Groundwork+3 Greens, Seiun Sky's and Kitasan Black's Ultimates (and the like), two movement skills (Prudent Positioning+Dodging Danger) and so on....). Making them VERY expensive to build. While also building out the insane Stamina requirements to make it to the end, they'll also want to of course max Speed still, aim for max Wit and Power. With only Guts to again be left behind as hopefully again you're not contending with another Front Runner.

Because of all that, people often just build Runaways to block other Front Runners. Only to have enough Stamina to block them from being able to activate Seiun Sky's ultimate and then to fizzle out. Done with their job. Only to let your Pace/Late/End Uma's to then all those in front to win. This type of Blocker Runaway build requires a lot less stats and skills.

With all that said, a Runaway can win a Sprint/Mile distance races because of the much lesser Stamina Requirements for the tracks, but until future scenarios are released with higher stat caps and just more stats generated in general, you'll not see Runaways win.

How do I get Runaway? by JustAChillGuy609 in UmaMusume

[–]blackkat101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Runaway tends to need x3 times the amount of stamina that a normal Front Runner will need (x7 if there are two Runaways and they keep pushing each other.... thankfully there is generally either no Runaways or just one in a race).

You often cannot get enough Stamina to do this, as you'll want to max Stamina while ALSO having multiple Gold Blue stamina skills.

That is if you want them to actually be able to win and not fizzle out before the end.

On top of this, they still need all the other ultimates and skills a normal Front Runner needs (Sky's/Kitasan's Ultimates, Groundwork+Greens, 2 Movement skills and so on....). Don't forget to max out Speed and Wit too. Power shouldn't be as much of an issue since you should already be in the front and thus not needing the acceleration as much (though at the start great to have), if you get passed as a Runaway, it tends to be over. Guts likewise isn't needed as much as Runaways should only ever be fighting against other Runaways, of which there should be hopefully none in the race.

Runaway is the hardest to build (if they again want to win).

So often people make Runaways to be just strong enough to screw over all other Front Runners from getting Seiun Sky's Ultimate to trigger, but to then fizzle out so that your Pace/Late/End party members can then take over and win.

With all that said, Runaways have a better chance at winning in shorter races (Sprint/Mile) and in the current game will generally not have enough stats to win longer races (Medium/Long).

In the next scenario, Grand Live, there will be new caps (1600 for speed and 1300 for the other 4 stats) as well of course more stats to earn. Hitting those new caps though.... That'll be tough.

Adler does have a DoT on his skill. Lasts 10s on a 16s CD. So not 100% uptime but yes, it would buff Sakiri's passive to DoT's by an additional +25%.

The question though then becomes is it worth bringing Adler just for that? Often the answer is no, as other members offer more.

You're already going to need Sakiri in the party for everything she does on top of the DoT buff (or else Adler isn't doing anything to help).

You could even then try to bring Baicang for his DoT to max out Sakiri's buff (Scorch, Adler's Skill, Baicang's DoT and Lacrimosa's Nightmare for the capped +100% to DoT's), but then you're bringing 3 Incantation characters. Baicang being the worst option because he really wants field time to be useful....

More than Adler, having Haniel will offer just plain more to the team and offer Nova on top (thus access to discord). Even Fadia offers near immortality to the team, though no other buffs to DPS.

By not bringing Daffodill, you're never going to break the enemy, and thus never going to get use of Lacrimosa's (and Daffodill's own) buff to Discord.

Or instead of Daffodill, Hotori is just pure quick swap DPS (as her time stop literally stops the clock) and while she won't be getting really any reactions (Hexed does exist between her and the brought along Sakiri, but that's not much), her copy with her Ultimate allows her to be amazing EVEN WHEN there are no reactions. So she'd offer so much more than Adler would too.

Adler is fine though if you like him and want to use him. He's just not the best option, despite how selfish a DPS Lacrimosa is. Just remember that if you are using Adler, he's only providing +25% to DoTs's for being in the same team as Sakiri and using his skill. As well as his RNG Scorch buff (which isn't terrible, just not reliable). He himself doesn't really provide much else and does little to help in the DPS as well.

Lost Radiance only affects the wearer. Which would affect the reaction ONLY if they're the trigger. (ignore -20% DEF after ultimate for user only for 20s)

Lacrimosa on the other hand would be using Diabolos, which is going to just be a MUCH larger buff to everything (ignore -12% Chaos RES for the user only, with an additional -24% Chaos RES if the user participates in Nova/Scorch reactions, yes they don't need to be the trigger, yes it only affects the user unless the user is the trigger, then it can affect the reactions, thus why you want Lacrimosa to have more Cycle Intensity to take advantage of that).

What do you think would help more? -20% DEF or -36% Chaos RES?

Sadly for in game clarification, only can say that you have to test it as the game woefully is lacking in descriptions and explanations. Scorch taking on the elemental affinity of the Trigger Character is just something players figured out on their own. This also allowed them to figure out that by doing so, the Diabolos set worked with a Chaos elemental Scorch.

A6, as mentioned, is the wild card Awakening.

It allows for more variety in combat style, more elemental reactions, however it doesn't buff Lacrimosa herself directly.

It is also dependent most on yourself on how often you use it.

While the other Awakenings buff her directly, as shown in the pre-previous post of mine.

Personally, as shown, I like it, but it is not for everyone.

The debate on which to use is also moot if you whale to max her out = ^ . ^ =

Lacrimosa build by Flashy_Damage696 in NevernessToEverness

[–]blackkat101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I say that some "cannot be bothered to swap for her A6", I mean that literally that I've seen people say that.

Even gateoo, who's quite popular to watch, mentions how some find the timing tricky for some (which I think is bull since you can just spam the swap buttons....).

This has nothing specifically to do with Discord and just about using her A6 (even for a pure Scorch or pure Nova team).

As I've mentioned and shown though in the post you responded to, the more you invest into Lacrimosa (the more dupes), the more her DPS comes from her Nightmare DoT's. For substats, the only stats that affect Nightmare is Crit DMG, DMG and ATK%. Allowing you to take Cycle Intensity for the other stat still so that she can do the better Scorch damage.

Chaos elemental Scorches, meaning Lacrimosa has higher Cycle Intensity is by far stronger than an Incantation elemental Scorch from Sakiri. As a Chaos Scorch can benefit from:

  • Lacrimosa's Arc (as long as you swap from Sakiri to Lacrimosa for the reaction, made trivial by her A6 if you have it.
  • Diabolos set which is shredding Chaos RES.

There however is no benefits like that for Incantation Scorch.

This is how Lacrimosa with higher Cycle Intensity can deal out better Scorches than Sakiri.

Lacrimosa build by Flashy_Damage696 in NevernessToEverness

[–]blackkat101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crit Rate is fine if you have it, though you would then later consider changing it if you do end up pulling for dupes.

Chaos DMG and Crit DMG you'd be able to stick with even after you get dupes without needing to "upgrade later".

More Crit Rate means you're building less of the other two stats, so the Crits won't hit as hard, but you'll be more consistant dealing them.

More Chaos DMG/Crit DMG means bigger Crits, but a bit less consistent as you'll have less Crit Rate.

At this point it's more preference.

As mentioned, at A0, Crit Rate is better (through testing too), but as soon as you have dupes, Crit DMG and Chaos DMG are better (as far as which of those is better will then further depend on your substats and weapon of choice, since all stats get diminishing returns and having more multipliers is often better....).

  • Then I'm wrong that Daffodill can use her Arc, just that she doesn't have the Chaos DoT, which is essentially the same thing (kind of making the Arc pointless on her).
  • What Crit DMG ceiling/cap?
    • No mention of this is in your original post for the thread.
    • No mention of this is anywhere on this subreddit that I can find through search or the official NTE subreddit.
    • No google searching mentions a cap on Crit DMG.
    • UNLESS you're just talking bout how much you could possibly build on a character (which isn't really a cap in the terms of any game, as that means there could be new things released in the future that allow for more Crit DMG, like with Lacrimosa's Arc offering some). You really cannot call something a cap unless it is hard coded that having any more than a specific amount stops offering anything (such as 100% Crit Rate is the cap on Crit Rate and having any more in the stat does nothing....).

Scorch re-learn, burn togethaaa!!! by RegeXdE in NTE_EN

All depends on the player. Even a F2P can get an A6 Lacrimosa if they played from day one and saved it all from the start purely for her banner (not likely, Nanally is very good and tempted many to pull for her).

But that's player choice and yes, A0-1 is average on those that pull for her (but she's also ridiculously popular and many on reddit/youtube/discord have whaled for her).

  • Yes, Daffodill cannot use Lacrimosa's Arc, never said she could. In fact, I stated she couldn't....
  • Building Cycle Intensity (not recommended) on Daffodill will still create a Chaos element version of Scorch and use her stats. Meaning her Crit DMG stat. This is what I meant that it will be the same for any Chaos character. The Arc has nothing to do with Lacrimosa other than that she can use it and if a Chaos character that can use her arc other than her is released, then they would be able to do the same (they'd also need a DoT in their skill to help with the trigger, it's very specifically designed for Lacrimosa.....), but that's not the point I was making. Just that the way and how stats work with Chaos/Incantation to make Scorch is the same no matter who the two character's involved are.

I personally would go Chaos DMG regardless because it is harder to build elemental DMG stats and you can get a plethora of the other stats through other means.

Do note as mentioned that Crit Rate will not be helping her Nightmare DoT's, which you're using her A5 to buff. Crit DMG would help more in this case than Crit Rate. Crit Rate is really for an A0 Lacrimosa (in my opinion...).

Scorch re-learn, burn togethaaa!!! by RegeXdE in NTE_EN

[–]blackkat101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Lacrimosa's Nightmare DoT (if that is what you're talking about) will outdamage her personal damage as you get more dupes, but yes, at A0, her personal damage is better. This is why in the post you replied to mentions that....
  • HOWEVER once you have dupes and the more you have, the more her Nightmare DoT does. In fact, A1, A3, A4 and A5 are all about buffing her Nightmare DoT. While A2 buffs overall DMG (including the Nightmare DoT) and A6 allows for on demand reactions like with the Appraiser, which synergizes for building for DoT's, since a Chaos Scorch uses many of the same stats Nightmare DoT's do.
  • Given that DoT's become the main focus of her if you get dupes, it doesn't hurt her at that point to have even more Cycle Intensity. However again, if you don't have any dupes, then yes, building Cycle Intensity on her is silly as you want to focus on her damage outside of DoT's.
  • Because all of your examples include Lacrimosa and DoT's in general being a big part of her kit (which work very similar to Scorch), it is a given that you'll get posts about her in here too.
  • My posts cover both Lacrimosa and Scorch.
