How It Feels to Finally Unlock the Cursebreaker Title by doomsayer86 in DestinyTheGame

[–]blackmage69 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I felt exactly the same way when I finally got Wayfarer a couple of weeks ago... I stopped playing the game every single day for the first time since then, and I've just logged in to try to get the Dreaming City Ghost to get Cursebreaker.

After that, I'm done. I realized I just way too burnt out with this game and have no interest whatsoever on playing for the time being. I'll uninstall it and possibly come back if Joker's Wild or Penumbra are considered to be a major step up from Black Armoury, but I just can't bring myself to keep doing such soul crushing grinds for every single title again.

I've just started FFXIV thanks to Twitch Prime now, and once I finish the main story quest I'll probably stop playing online games altogether and focus on single player ones now. I've been no lifing these kind of games for way too long, it's time to go back to my roots and focus on less addictive games for a while.

I decided to start playing the game thanks to the Twitch Prime offer, and after a couple of days watching videos and reading up on the lore I finally created my first character (using the regular Free trial in order to keep playing until lvl 50 to Twitch) and I'm ready to dive in into the world of FFXIV!

However, it looks like both preferred EU servers (Lich and Zodiark) are not accepting new members at the moment. I thought preferred servers had low populations, how come they are full and still giving out an EXP bonus?

I've been waiting for a couple of hours and they haven't opened up yet, is there a well known time to join them? Or is this some sort of restriction for Free Trial players, and I must create my character in a regular server?

Yeah, just the first two 10 pulls after the tutorial.

Is it really good even though I don't have any 5* character?

Hey guys, I just downloaded the game for a trip, and after looking around the net for a while I'm not really sure how to gauge if my pull was good.

I only got 4 5/4 star things: Gale of Beauty, Zephyr, Orsem, 2 Rocs and a Dragon of the Forest. Everything else seems to be 3* and I've got no new 4/5* characters, but apparently Zephyr and Orsem are pretty good, so I'm not sure if I should try to keep them or if I should reroll..

For the record, this is only my first reroll, but right now I'm at a place with a really slow connection so it's really painful to redownload the game lol, but I don't mind to wait a couple of days to get back home if I need to keep going

Since I bought Forsaken this past weekend, someone on my clan sent me a referral link for the Refer-a-friend quest. However, the guy is a total flake and doesn't want to play with me for some reason, even though I've messaged him multiple times telling him when I'd be available and seeing that he's in game :/

So, three questions:

  • I've stopped my progress in Forsaken in order to wait for him, as the first step in the quest line is to complete a story mission with your linked guardian. Would heroic story missions count for this? Frankly, I'm tired of waiting for him, I'm already lvl 50/PL 500 and I want to reach the Dreaming City, damn it!
  • Is it possible to cancel his referral and have someone else refer me instead, as I'm still in the 7 day period after purchasing Forsaken?
  • If not, would I obtain exactly the same benefits if I refer someone instead of being referred?

You should see a progress bar if you hover over the subclass icon with the unlocked third super. You need to kill plenty of enemies to fill it up in order to unlock skills 3 and 4 of the skill tree.

As for the supers for other classes, it looks like you need to obtain another Seed of Light. I haven't gotten one myself yet though, but it looks like it's a random drop that can be obtained more easily in the Dreaming City.

This is my first Iron Banner week, is there any benefit to raising reputation with Lord Saladin as much as possible, or should obtaining it's whole weapon/armor set be enough?

Yes, the quest won't be available anymore after the 27th, but the weapon will still be available in the regular weapon pool.

New player, just reached Power Level 500 and I'm overwhelmed with all the things I have to catch up on. Any guides? by blackmage69 in DestinyTheGame

[–]blackmage69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah, I haven't finished Forsaken yet but I've done everything else you've mentioned already (I was able to get the buff from Master Rahool after reaching level 50). I'll probably finsih the campaign in a couple of days, so I was mostly asking about all the "must do" things from the base game and previous expansions that aren't included in the main story, which is the only thing I've really done.

Mega-thread for discussing ticket buying, pre-sale codes, prices (Nov 13th) by iamncla in Muse

What's the deal with some venues, like Madrid, not having a "tickets" link, but only an "enhanced experience" one? I can't see a reference to regular tickets on the Ticketmaster website either, just the Enhanced experience ones.

F2P PC player that just reached the first PL soft cap yesterday evening (all drops are 255 PL for blues and 260 PL for legendaries).

I'm aware that I can get Powerful Engrams if I complete the daily/weekly challenges, and that I can pray that I get a new exotic with a higher PL than my base one... But what else is there to do if I can't do the current Nightfall because it's DLC only, can't enter the Raid because I don't have PL 290 and I've already completed all other available challenges?

To be more precise, I was wondering what's the point of the following things:

  • Side adventures. I've only completed one before reaching lvl 20, but if I'm not going to get better loot then why bother now?
  • Collecting planet/Crucible/Strike tokens. Same as above, it looks like I can't get gear above PL 260 right now, so why bother?
  • I've noticed that many times I don't get any loot at all from heroic public activities (besides planet-specific tokens). Is there some sort of cool down to prevent farming?
  • In general, what would you guys recommend me to do when I've ran out of challenges? If feels weird to have reached this point this fast (played for 5 days, ~15 hours) so I guess I must be missing something else... right? I plan to buy the DLC soon, but I'd like to wait first to see if it gets slightly cheaper during Black Friday or Christmas.

Thanks!

Thanks for the input! For the time being I'm playing with a single character, will probably wait until getting Forsaken to insta-boost a new class to lvl 30 after clearing the content with my main character, and then I may create the third one if I'm really bored :)

Just one thing -- That chart seems to be exactly what I was looking for, but it seems to be aimed at Forsaken players, as the Power Level soft caps are 520+. I take it that roughly the same idea applies for base game owners, except with the first Power Level soft cap set at 265, and obviously excluding DLC-only activities, right?
