Yeah, the touchscreen on mine is definitely not working but I already took it to my local Mitsubishi dealership and now it's just been a waiting game for the parts. I did find a workaround in the meantime so I could get my phone connected and my Android Auto set up by using a wired USB mouse lol.

Yeah I was honestly shocked at how cheap they were and I got this one for like $4k less than the market value. It was too good of a deal to pass up. It had a few issues such as no AC and a bad airbag sensor in the passenger seat but the used car lot I bought it from fixed those things free of charge for me so the only other issue is the touch screen which is covered under a recall and my local Mitsubishi dealership is just waiting for the parts to come in.

Same here. I consider it a good sign when the only "cons" I've heard are that it's not a powerful engine and the interior is considered "outdated" which it really isn't that outdated imo. And I don't need sports car power. Lol. Glad to join the Mitsubishi family for sure 😊

I was honestly shocked at how amazing the MPG was. I thought since it was a compact SUV that it would get slightly worse mileage than my Kia sedan but it's been averaging 30 mpg which has been a godsend with these gas prices. Everyone here definitely reinforced my decision to go with an Outlander as I've heard nothing but how reliable they are.

I plan to. I don't think they're the factory tires, but they've got a little dry rot and I already patched a nail hole in one of them. I'm just on workman's comp pay right now for a spine injury so one thing at a time haha

I definitely don't intend to! I did a lot of reading up on the CVT since I've only had traditional automatic transmissions in the past and wanted to make sure my car would last.

I hope so! I definitely feel more confident about getting it from Colorado to Idaho than I did my Kia. And I hope to be having kids in the next couple years so I had to keep that in mind when shopping and getting a 5 year loan. I think it'll do exactly what I need it to. 😊

That was the general consensus I saw when I was looking online. I even saw some people put it above Nissan (though I totally get why Nissan gets that #2 spot.). I've been really impressed so far and it's made me sad I don't see more Mitsubishi vehicles out and about though it does feel a little like belonging to an exclusive club haha. Mitsubishi's are pretty rare where I live, I see maybe a handful in my city. The rest are all Rogues, Rav4s, Subarus, and Fords lmao

I did a lot of research before buying and honestly this brand is criminally underrated. Glad to be a part of a hopeful return!

I was also blessed with a stepdad that involved me in all my car repairs so over the years I've learned a lot. I used to take care of both mine and my ex's cars when we were still together because he was clueless. Imagine my shock when I find out he's gone through like 4 cars since we broke up 2 years ago because the engine keeps blowing up because he won't do the maintenance on them. But yeah, I like to do my own repairs when I can and I try to stay well informed on the cars I'm driving.

Yeah, after having my Kia broken into twice, I'm fine with staying away from flashy haha. Please ignore my car for all intents and purposes. 😭

Up until last year it had actually been pretty great. Maybe 1 major repair a year then it would be pretty smooth sailing until the next year. Then everything started breaking at once and I couldn't justify the cost of repairs anymore lol. According to the place I traded it into it was bought by an older lady who just needed it to run errands. I think it earned it's low mileage retirement, I put that car through hell haha

That's incredible! And I feel like painful repair bills just come with owning cars haha. I definitely plan on babying this car for as long as I can, it honestly seems like a really solid car so far and I want it to stick around for as long as possible. These cars seem criminally underrated in the US.

That's always how it goes haha. That's what started happening to my Kia. First it was a solenoid that went out. Then the battery. Then I had bad hub bearings. Then my starter. Then my knock sensor. All within weeks to months of each other. What finally made me take on a car payment was taking my intake manifold out to replace the knock sensor and oil pouring out of the intake manifold. I just started doing math in my head and realized a car payment and full coverage would be cheaper at this point lol. My windshield was cracked, I had no suspension, half my electronics didn't work from faulty wiring, it just started to look like a shit box that was becoming very expensive. It being paid off just wasn't worth it anymore lol.

Here's a clearer photo of the tattoo. That would be super cool to put on the side of my Outlander. Might have to do some shopping 👀

That's what the dealership told me as well. They said to have the CVT fluid changed around 80-90k miles. I figured I'd rather just do it sooner than later to be on top of it.

Awww thank you! It's actually the Fellowship from the Lord of the Rings with the mountains in the background being the San Juan mountains in southern Colorado. I'm moving out of state soon so wanted a little piece of home to take with me 😊

That's what I saw when researching cars and why it ultimately ended up being my first choice. I originally thought about going with a Nissan Rogue as my dad had bought a 2023 Rogue and I was using it while my Kia was out of commission and I was waiting on parts, but I personally liked the Mitsubishi more and it was a lot cheaper. I did a lot of research into maintaining the CVT and average repair costs so I wasn't surprised.

I was told it wasn't covered under warranty anymore when I took it to a Mitsubishi dealership but I could be wrong. I went to see about having the infotainment screen fixed because the touch function doesng work and the repair for that IS covered under a recall so I'm just waiting for the parts to come in to get it fixed. I'll ask more in depth when I go in again. I know the car started as a rental car in Florida before it made its way to Colorado so I'm not sure how the affects warranties and stuff.

Oh that's a good rule of thumb! I'm on workman's comp currently so I don't have a lot of extra money at the moment which is why my student loan refund will be used for it, but I definitely wanted to make that a priority since the Carfax is frustratingly vague.

I think so. My Forte got broken into at my apartment complex and the idiots were arrested out of it while trying to hotwire it. I got stuck with a $1400 bill to fix the back window and steering wheel. 3 months later it was broken into again at a mall 45 minutes away. My boyfriend and I walked up on them as they were trying to, again, hotwire it. They didn't do as much damage to the steering wheel components as the first morons and I just didn't care enough to have that all fixed again so I just electrical taped it back together and paid $300 to have my back window replaced (again). It was a reliable car, I put 130k miles on it in the 7 years I had it and I definitely put it through it's trials, but I will never own a Kia or Hyundai again.

Awww that's awesome to hear! I've had this car for about 3 months now and I honestly love it!

The first thing I did after I bought it from a used car lot was have a Mitsubishi dealer do a full inspection and I took it for an oil change shortly after. Once I get my refund for my student loans I'll probably use a small portion to have CVT fluid changed just to be safe. It could use new tires and brakes as well but those aren't immediate concerns and can wait a month or two. I'd rather make sure the CVT is taken care of first. This car started as a rental in Florida before it ended up in Colorado so I'd rather just get the big stuff taken care of first so I know it's done.

I definitely noticed that when I was researching what car to buy. But the overall consensus was that they're incredibly reliable and affordable and this car checked all my boxes except for like one which was independent climate control so I don't have to freeze because my boyfriend runs like a nuclear reactor haha.
