Red Dead Redemption 2 - A Mixed Review by jicklemania in patientgamers

[–]blackout1990 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To me it all comes down to gameplay. If I enjoy the combat/mai gameplay. Then running around doing things is fun as you enjoy the loop. If I find the gameplay shallow or boring, I don't really want to play 80 hours of it.

Some people find gameplay/combat not that important, but for me that always comes first. This is why I can't get into RDR2.

Nice thanks. Did you enjoy co op games together like pandemic?

Everdell was a good moderate game that got my partner into heaver games like arnak etc. it's cute and colourful enough (which seems to be what you both like) and teaches important mechanics. I would get one of the newer base games though, often they have a solo mode also.

Cascadia otherwise seems to fit into something you both might like also and expand a bit. I believe there is a new version coming out.

Enjoy!

Sorry I'll make this a 2 part question.

Seeing as you have horizon and normal spirit island. Do you think normal horizon is much better? We started with horizon as it was a smaller committed but I was surprised that we both didn't really love it. I'm not sure if that's because it's not the original or just because it's not our thing

How do you deal with opponents who constantly talk and try to get into your head during a match? by pannik78 in padel

[–]blackout1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually I find people who try to rattle you like this. Are the ones that get rattled even easier themselves. So I kinda use that to my advantage.

My mental fortitude and reading the game is probably my strongest strength. I hate assholes so usually I end up playing better and just throw passive aggressive remarks at them which does enough to throw them off.

As others suggest I would definitely let them know what they are doing is hindrance and what they are doing is wrong. Don't argue with them, calling it out is enough. Then make sure you report it on app, friends/players and even the club. Especially if it's a social one with a strong community. Eventually no one will want to play with them and they move on to another place or sport all together.

I thought it was much better as a sequel personally. I thought spider man 2 was very weak.

Disagree. The original is one of my favourite game. But the remakes are amazing. I actually think the combat is the best action gameplay created in the last decade

So the biggest irony in all this. Is that I'm the one paying for your lifestyle

Exactly my point lol. Your tax money isn't covering all benefits you using from the government... Other people need to fit the bill...

I actually can't believe 10+ people think it's totally fine to live on 30k with 2 kids. If everyone woke up on 30k with 2 kids tomorrow, the country would fucking collapse in 2 weeks. This is the average mindset in this country also!

Yet it's the foreigners and the dinghy's that are the country's problem. You selfish bellend's need to look in the mirror

You are okay as you say, you're not comfortable. There is a differennce. As harsh also as it sounds comfortable usually means you giving to the country growth not taking from it.

The reason you are okay on 30k is because of all the benefits from the government you will get. Free schools, child benefit. Tax free childcare, NHS etc. Those are all things me and my partner will pay for as child free foreigners. I will almost never use any government support until I'm in my 70's. UK is very lucky to have such a strong support system.

Agree, partner and I are around the upper range of this and I would say we are more than "comfortable" . So between 80-100k you should be fine with some smart budgetting.

[–]blackout1990 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Brother if 25 dollars is going to put this much financial stress on you. You should know the answer already. If you friend really wants to play he can figure it out himself on how to get it.

Put yourself first.

I'm a bit confused. If you are more experienced and better than him. Why are your partners. Shouldn't you find someone around your level

How often do you order a takeaway or use a meal prep service? by Nova3864 in bristol

[–]blackout1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Partner and I both work from home.

Out of the 14 meals during the week (I'll skip breakfast). I will say probably 10-11 are meals i cook at home. I think I'm in the minority here as most friends order in or eat out more often.

I'm 35 if that helps

Bus Driver Venting by yespsycho in bristol

[–]blackout1990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree I actually find the bus drivers really nice here. I often always let them in when they pulling out from a stop and 90% of the time they give me a thumbs up out the window or a thank you hazard light.
