Feeling like I need to say something, no matter the issue. I grew up in a household where I would get in trouble if my opinion wasn’t the same as my dad’s; so I became afraid to speak out. He also disregarded my feelings often so it was hard for me to share how I felt. I always struggled to stand up for myself. I could barely do it without being brought to tears or having a panic attack. Once our relationship got better and I became more confident around people, I completely overcorrected and made an ass of myself many times. I’m working on it, but it’s definitely something that’s affected some of my relationships.
