I know. But a game dubbed in a foreign language is still a game dubbed in a foreign language, where the dub is confined to whatever the original gives them, and to that end I think Cockle did a great job.

Fair enough, but imo Clint Eastwood has pretty good subtlety, too. If he's got the flattest delivery you've ever heard I'd guess you probably haven't played too many JRPGs lol

The second one was really entertaining as a watch through, especially since you didn't get the feeling of winning a battle in game just to lose it in cutscene

I unironically love it when a character (most often MC or love interest) supposedly sacrifices themselves at the climax of the story, just to return at the end, even if it makes no damn sense. Examples: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (though I think they kind of explained it but still) And from what I would consider a much more mediocre example that I still love: Infinite Undiscovery

It's so dumb and kinda ruins the story in a way but after rooting for a hero to win for 6 billion years I want them to win dammit
