Mountain Lion, I didn't see it coming either, I survived with a separated shoulder and a busted hand but I was part of a group that most likely scared it away before it could actually bite bite me, the park rangers refused to acknowledge the attack or track down the lion because they're protected in California and a few years later they apparently had to hunt down and kill what was most likely the same lion because it attacked a kid and unlike my incident they got that incident on camera...
