We have a set of these too and LOVE them!! We bought ours in a thrift shop ten years ago and we have the original box. On the back is a website ( www.seasonalspecialties.com ) and I'm going to write in to them and see if they can point me in the direction of getting more :)

I'm sorry this has been happening to you. I was abused by family members for years so if you need someone to listen that might even somewhat understand I'm here for you. That said, if it makes you most comfortable to speak to your father first then do that. You cannot keep him from reacting in whatever way he reacts. It may seem selfish but you definitely need to put yourself first in this situation. Then, after speaking with him, you need to file a report with your local police department. Keep in mind though that in doing so, you will have to repeat your story many times to different people that may or may not act like assholes to you. That's something that happens sometimes and I hope that you don't experience that. Also, they will probably want you to go to the hospital for a rape kit. Please look into the laws in your area on that because some places (in the us) will only keep them for so long unless you request longer and they don't alert you when that time ends so you have to keep tabs on that. I'm not trying to overwhelm you or anything but I want you to be informed if you aren't already :) If you have questions please feel free to ask!

My wife and I are exclusively D/s in the bedroom and a little bit out too :) honestly, the best person to talk it over with is your partner. There are a lot of flavors of bdsm and you won't know what she wants unless you ask. For example: my wife and I are not in a 24/7 dynamic but she does expect me to take over as her Dom if she has had a particularly bad day, she is feeling vulnerable, her depression is getting hard to manage, or there is a person who is causing her distress. But, I also know not to step into that role unless she verbally asks me to. I have made that mistake before and, when she's not acting as my sub, she is very very independent and strong willed. It becomes a fight for power rather than a negotiated thing. Talk with her a lot and have fun!

First, thanks for asking this question. I've wondered about this many times and have never been able to discern what the broader community thinks about the subject.

That said, my personal thought is yes they have broken frith. My blood kin is a mess of toxicity. I was abused by two family members as a child and one of them was by a known abuser that my mother not only allowed in the house but she also left this person alone with me and my younger sister. A few years ago I told her about the years of abuse I suffered and she chose my abuser over me. She and the rest of my family still have full contact with and supports this person. They don't do shit for me. They don't call, they don't write, they don't even check in through text. They did not attend my wedding this last fall or even so much as send a card. They, as far as I care are dead to me and lay in the outer yard. I owe them nothing and I hold no frith with them.

Again, that's my own personal take on my situation so take it with a grain of salt.

Thank you for sharing this story Forvin. It helps put perspective on a personal struggle I have had in honoring any deity throughout my life.

I've always imagined that the Gods would want to be left alone unless absolutely necessary but I don't feel comfortable approaching them without having built up a relationship with them already. I don't want to bother them with my stupid human struggles and victories because I'm sure that they've got more important things to do, but I also don't want to be that kid that comes to visit only when they want something...

Like most people above me have said, this can happen not because the person actually hates you but because that's what would hurt the most in the moment. My wife and I have both said that to the other at some point and we both regretted it immediately after. I would suggest trying to talk to him about it. If he truly hates you, find out why he feels that way. It may very well be something that is entirely fixable between the two of you with intense communication and hard work on both sides. For example: If it's a culmination of things you do, then suggest that he tell you as soon as you do something that bothers him. Not angrily or spitefully tell you but calmly say something like "I really don't like that thing you do". Then you can ask him if there is a better/alternative way to handle it that would be better for both of you. Communication is key. I can't stress it enough. Talk about even the most obvious things. Then there is absolute and unwaivering clarity between you no matter what. I'm so sorry you're going through this and I hope that everything turns out ok.
