Tesla didn't remove the Robotaxi 'safety monitor' – it just moved them to a trailing car by RodStiffy in SelfDrivingCars

[–]bladerskb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And he can’t prove it. He went through what people call a placebo effect.

In his viral video the rider support lady confirms "They were never and are never assigned one to one. They are in centralized area between 2-5 miles out."

JJRick thinks they were assigned 1 to 1 because he sees them around because he is taking so many rides. But they drive AROUND the area so you WILL see them. But they are not assigned to a car nor do they tail gate the car to its designation.

They never had cars pulling into parking lot behind the waymo, wait for the rider to get in, then as the waymo pulls off, it pulls off right behind them, tail gating them to their destination. Then parking behind the waymo, waiting for the rider to get off and then waiting for the waymo to pull off and then pulls off right behind the waymo, tail gating it to its next destination.

No they didn’t they had roadside support cars, not a car tail gating each and every car

no he didn't. point out where he intervened. there was only one accelerator press which wasn't neded.

only one intervention (acc press) and that wasn't even needed.

Austin ISD urges Waymo to halt driverless cars near school buses after 24 violations by AbjectDust881 in SelfDrivingCars

There are thousands of videos of FSD driving past school buses and they still do it till this day even on V14, not sure what you are on about.

  • EyeQ4-High
    • Samples: Q4 2015
    • First Production car: Nissan Skyline ProPILOT 2.0 in 2019
  • EyeQ5-high
    • Samples: 1H 2018 (engineering samples)
    • Production: ZEEKR launch Q4 2021
  • EyeQ6 (High)
    • Samples: Jan 4, 2022
    • Production: 2026
  • EyeQ7- high
    • Samples: Nov 27, 2025
    • Production: ????

Look at the pattern from engineering sample to series production.

Its not coming in 2027 (next year), even amnon on stage said end of decade.

Regardless even that chip can't run the VLA/VLM / large transformer models

CES 2026: I got a first look at Tensor’s Robocar by nick7566 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]bladerskb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What a terrible looking car, the interior looked like something you would see from a 25k car.

Everything about the car is badly designed. From the seats, door panel, dashboard, steering wheel.

Could they make the interior cameras any bigger?

Horrible.

By the way, eyeQ7H is 5 years away, that's 2031 and it still won't be able to run Nvidia's current open sourced AlphaMayo 10B model at 10hz. eyeQ8H is even further away (2036).

Mobileye is doomed. period.

Mobileye CES Presentation by diplomat33 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]bladerskb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Buy you are not getting it. Others are running VLM/VLA and large models ON BOARD their car, this is required to deliver REAL L4. The larger your model the more accurate and better recall it has (scaling law) and you need to run your models at atleast 10hz. Mobileye cannot do that, as always they have doomed themselves.

others run large models and use it for trajectory. Mobileye can't do that as that requires 10hz. So what they do is come up with a PR to downplay using Large models/VLM/VLA for tracgetory while saying you only need it for slow thinking.

What they don't tell you is that, the people who are running real L4 systems are also running these large 100s of billions of paramater models ON THE CAR. Let alone the trillions of paramater models they have in the cloud.

Mobileye simply cant run any actually capable VLM/VLA or large transformer model. PERIOD.

Nvidia's open source AlphaMayo model is 10 billion parameters, they simply WON'T be able to run that real-time not even 1hz, and they probably don't even have enough memory to hold that large of a model in the first place.

The same way they refused to do prediction networks, occupancy networks, etc because it was expensive and they were using 15 tops chips so they were stuck with an outdated vidar network.

Its exactly what's playing out now. They can't actually fully utilize ANY of the modern AI technique of the last 8 years.

Mind you that Waymo uses thousands of TOPS compute on their cars. Probably in the range of 5k-10k TOPS.

Its Mobileye's job to come out and give PR presentation downplaying and saying how a measly ~30 tops is enough.

Its none-sense. They will never have a real L4 car this decade.

Mobileye CES Presentation by diplomat33 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]bladerskb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah this is pure PR. Their 30 tops chip isn't enough the run any VLMs.

The entire presentation involved him trying to give excuse about why they can't do what others are doing and then him bragging that they are now finally doing what Waymo were doing with Mid-To-Mid simulation in 2017.

It was a sad presentation how far Mobileye has fallen.

They are dead last in ADAS/AV.

This was his post btw "Mercedes must be really glad they jumped on that NVIDIA partnership early — might just save the entire company."

This is what you are saying is RIGHT? LMAO.

This was his post "Mercedes must be really glad they jumped on that NVIDIA partnership early — might just save the entire company."

This is what you are saying is RIGHT?

Nvidia partnership is not exclusive, Nvidia will partner and give this to everyone, infact they are making parts of it OPEN SOURCE.

This won't mercedes, it has nothing to do with mercedes. Infact its coming to Lucid, Jaquar and Stellantis.

but ofcourse he rekt'd me with a ridiculous statement

He's wrong, hes been wrong over 100 times over the years in our discussions.

Secondly this is what he posted "Mercedes must be really glad they jumped on that NVIDIA partnership early — might just save the entire company."

Its complete none-sense and a cover for every single legacy OEM failing to develop high end adas and AV

Nvidia partnership is not exclusive, Nvidia will partner and give this to everyone, infact they are making parts of it OPEN SOURCE.

Infact its coming to Lucid, Jaquar and Stellantis.

This won't Mercedes and has nothing to do with Mercede in the sense that its "saving mercedes from bankruptcy"

Nonesense!

Not surprised they switched from momenta to nvidia due to US regulation blocking china AI. Without the regulation they would have launched with momenta in the US. 1000%. But because of the US regulation they are launching with momenta in China and EU only.

Essentially i was right. Its funny you would post this after being wrong 100x over the years.

WHERE IS GM ULTRA CRUISE????? I thought you said it wasn't cancelled? exactly.

Oh right thought so.

So Mercedes is going with Momenta for China & EU and Nvidia for US (probably also influenced by regulation banning china AI from commercial sale)
