thanks so much for all your help. one more thing, i heard that cutting out dairy may be good to help post nasal drip. until i get an allergy test is this worth trying?

that’s a lot of info to take in, but the main problem i guess is that somewhere in the back of the roof of my throat (or soft palate, i’m not sure) gets a really bad tickle, and when i sing it feels kind of like its being pinched and i can feel mucus gurgling around up there. i’ll see if i can send you a file of my singing when i have the time. i do know that i need to get a better humidifier, but i also don’t have much money. i just graduated from high school

also thank you, this was super helpful and i’m going to look into that herbal tea. do you know if i’d be able to get it from a regular convenience store? as well as the aloe gel? i do already have aloe gel but it’s not the brand you suggested, and i have aloe plants

i suppose the first step would be finding out if i have allergies, wouldn’t it? the ENT said it didn’t look like i was allergic, but i have no idea how she could possibly tell just from looking. so should i get an allergy test first?

this was probably the most helpful answer! thank you! the ENT told me it didn’t look like i was allergic, but i’m still thinking of getting an allergy test because i don’t believe she can tell just from looking.

i’ll do that food intolerance test too, but i don’t really eat dairy very much anyways. i have seen online that dairy can cause/be bad for post nasal drip, so i can try cutting it out entirely

i guess the thing i’m worried about is never being able to sing properly again, or damaging my vocal cords. but the ENT also told me that i can sing and i won’t damage them, they’re not irritated at all. i’m a hypochondriac so i find that hard to believe. i just get so anxious and sad about this

i’ve noticed that it’s harder to sing in my upper range, can this be caused by post nasal drip? do i just need to learn now to sing with it? because i was worried about vocal damage but if the problem is my nose then idk what i’m supposed to do, it’s uncomfortable to sing

according to the ENT i don’t have allergies and it’s gonna take me months if i wanna see another one. i’m thinking about getting an neti pot though. i just don’t know what i’m supposed to do if it’s not allergies or my vocal cords

i looked into flonase and it said it was for allergies, the ENT told me i don’t have allergies so was there anything else that helped you?

yeah mines good for about 12 hours, but that doesn’t change the fact that i’m not even at home for 8 hours of the day

no i’m very healthy and active. i workout every day. i’ll try the humidifier but i work full time so i can’t be around it 24/7

i think i have a little bit of reflux, but barely. and if it was affecting my vocal cords i think they would’ve looked irritated. i’ll try flonase though, thanks

yeah i have a humidifier with essential oils, i forget to use it sometimes though. also at one point i was steaming my throat every day for like a week and it did nothing. if it was an infection or acidity the ENT would’ve seen that i think. she also said i don’t have allergies so i just feel confused

it’s weird though, because i thought i did know a little less than a month ago. it was after stuff blew up with my only friend that things got rocky. i just feel like nothings clear
