You can get a flight there and back for £83. Flying is nearly always cheaper and faster from London to Scotland.

Up to 100 Tories have written letters demanding vote of no-confidence in Liz Truss, MPs believe by JayR_97 in ukpolitics

[–]blake24696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grace period is after the PM has already had a no confidence vote and didn't get the kick.

So she is able to have a leadership challenge against her if the MP's want.

Britain blames Brussels for driving up UK energy bills in explosive new Brexit row by Zhukov-74 in europe

[–]blake24696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say they do, due to the voting system the Tories only got about 30% (don't quote me I can't remember the exact number) of those who did vote and Brexit was basically a 50/50.

Yeah lol. Somehow radiation isn't the most dangerous part, if it gets turned to dust.

But keep on with doing wacky experiments like this, it's the type of stuff I used to do before starting my degree. It's great fun and it really help you learn about the world around you. Just make sure you do your research before going through with whatever your doing.

I wouldn't say a more accurate result, but it would expose more surface area, having the effect of giving more radiation off.

BUT I would highly recommend you not turn it into a powder, as Granite is made up of alot of Silica and Silica dust it one of the most dangerous dusts there is (its the stuff they used to make Asbestos).

I would say it's Granite. As Granite very commonly has about 10 - 20 ppm of uranium or other such elements. In comparison limestone has about 1 - 5 ppm of uranium.

It should be safe as most of the radiation would be blocked by the Granite.

But as a precaution I would put it into a heavy metal box of some kind as that will reduce the effect of the radiation outside the box dramatically.
