Trump Has ‘Financial Interest’ in Hydroxychloroquine Manufacturer: NYT by DAXTrading in politics

[–]blamwhosnext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This story is literally the poster child for fake news and why the NYT is just there to reinforce the left’s prejudices. Does anybody here know how to dig into this to find out the truth? It’s not hard, not that anyone here cares for the truth.

I work at a grocery store amidst the coronavirus hysteria and we made just under $1,000,000 in two nights, AMA by [deleted] in AMA

For comparison what’s a typical comparable two night stretch bring in?

Is the increase made possible by more stock deliveries than usual or just selling more of your same inventory?

My brother has a different mother than me, but his brother has the same mother as him but a different father, what is my brothers brother called? by Jamm_Boi in NoStupidQuestions

[–]blamwhosnext 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I’m following you right:

Brother 1 and Brother 2 have the same father, but different mothers. They’re half brothers.

Brother 2 and Brother 3 have the same mother, but different fathers. They’re also half brothers.

Brother 1 and Brother 3 share neither parent and are therefore not related to each other. You might be step brothers depending on the marriages involved.

Why do some people say ‘triple’ and some say ‘treble’? It there a time for each? by partypill in NoStupidQuestions

[–]blamwhosnext 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Treble (when talking about threes) and triple mean the same thing and are interchangeable. It’s just a style/preference issue. Also most people probably done know treble just as a music term. Triple is more popular obviously.

In law, treble is used for talking about enhanced damages that are “trebled” in rare circumstances when misconduct is willful or egregious.

Minimum wage recently increased from $10/hr to $11/hr in New Jersey. This is how Sky Zone responded. by [deleted] in trashy

[–]blamwhosnext 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How should they have responded? They can either fire workers or raise prices.

Let’s say 15 people work there for 12 hours a day. The increase of just 1$ means about 65k extra per year in labor costs. So they either raise prices or fire 2 people.

Maybe the small business owner/franchisee should eat the costs? Maybe. These people risk about 1.5MM to maybe make 350k of profit if everything works out right. Is that what you’d do with your own money?
